    ...dabbled in some PHP, too, and recently started teaching myself Python, but that went nowhere...like @russpowell, programming just isn't my thing (as much as I wish(ed) it were)...think I'll stick with my reading, photography, gardening, music, and bicycle riding to exercise my brain muscle, with a side of beer (BA) and target shooting (some math and physics there) to spice things up a bit...

    Those are all great endeavors! Software development as a hobby is an interesting take on mental exercise too, and I admit to still spending way too much time on GitLab with various open source project to which I (try to) support/contribute.

    When it's your life/profession and you love it, it can be like going to play (at work!). I also had the privilege to work with/for some seriously brilliant individuals.

    Eventually I started managing said software engineers... and then many various teams of such folks. Rewarding in many ways, but that's when it never again felt like play.

    P.s. I only ever professionally did one quick side-project in Python and it was super fun.

    About 3 am this morning a massive rain storm hit. Fierce lightning, torrential rain for at least 90 min. Got me outa bed. Hotel lost power for a few min. It was like all Urhell X 3 was breakin' loose. At least a lot of corn sweat got washed away. Time for a tug of popcorn. :beers: Corn! Beer!
