What beer are you drinking now? #4326

We spent a few days in the Traverse City MI area and really enjoyed it. Yesterday was the last day and it was a whirlwind, so I didn't get a chance to post. If I may, here is a quick recap (photos start at bottom and go up clockwise):
Started with an Old Nation M-43 next to Grand Traverse Bay. At The Village TC, after a tour of the Botanic Garden and the old Northern Michigan Asylum, a varied style flight and their flagship A2 IPA at Earthen Ales. Cool place and well made beer. Next was Soul Butter, a TIPA at Terra Firma. Not a style I usually drink, but this was less sweet and boozy than expected, and really quite tasty. Then, a Grand Armory Wheezin' the Juice before a dinner of perch and ribs at Boone's Long Lake Inn. And finally, some Detroit Pizza and bubble hockey with an Austin Brothers Steve Murkel IPA at Charles & Reid. Awesome day, and thanks for your indulgence! Back home now and I'll check in a bit later with today's selection(s) while I water my own botanic garden. Cheers!

Billed as a pineapple infused Lichtenhainer. Poured a 473ml can into a pilsner glass. A two finger fine white head on a hazy lemon. Good head retention. The head diminishes to a ring. Some patchy lacing. Canned on May 12 so moderately fresh.

A very slight pineapple in the nose.

Mild beech smoke up front. Subtly fruity, although the promised pineapple is not really apparent in the taste. Slight Gose like salt elements. An almost imperceptible sourness. No noticeable hopping. A mildly fruity finish.

Light body and moderate carbonation.

A light and refreshing smoked lager.

look: 4 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 4 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 4
