Back home for a bit. Getting ready to enjoy a smoke and a pour of Rhinegeist Brewery '22 Rye Barrel Aged Ink.

I really don't like the looks of this beer, but it is pretty tasty despite appearances. Little Willow Year Round NEIPA.

I decided to replace the particulate/HEPA filter in my Volvo this afternoon since I've never done it. What a pain i the ass that was - you'd think they would make something like replacing a filter easy.

Had to remove two T25 torx screws from the panel under the glove box and snap that off, then remove 4 T25 torx screws to remove the cover for the filter.

Problem is, two of the screws you can't get to without a 90 degree angle driver which I don't have. I managed to bend the panel down far enough to get at it and it turns out there was no filter in it at all. I managed to get the new filter inserted and then closed everything back up, but it took like an hour to do what should have been a simple 10 minute job.

My daughter has bad allergies during this time of year so I wanted to make sure the AC was blowing clean air since we'll be taking my car to Idylwilde Farms tomorrow. Anyways, it's done and I'm relaxing with this nice beer.

That will be my first beer as soon as I arrive at the frozen tundra, tomorrow morning.

My lawn is fried as well. I heard on the news that this is the longest stretch we've had without rain since 1999. We really need some and there's nothing in sight until possibly next Thursday.

I was hoping to have a reasonable level of optimism going into halftime of the Alabama at Wisconsin NCAA football game, but then reality set it. Alabama could beat a couple NFL teams. I am confident that Alabama students in town for the game will have a wonderful experience, as long as they do not try to drink like the locals. We are the professionals, in that regard. @Ocalafox can attest to this.

interestingly sweet but I really enjoy pumpkins beers. Probably won’t visit this one again though. Brown sugar. Cinnamon. Candles. Sugar again.

mlb the show 24 striking out Jim Thome with Randy Johnson feels like watching ball as a kid in ‘01 again real baseball heads know.
    Cheers.

It’s been a busy Saturday with errands, yard work, and a long walk in our local county park. Now watching Mizzou play Boston College and drinking an Oktofest from Ramstein. Go Mizzou!

Yes!!! Oktoberfest Zinzinnati is next weekend...Thursday through Sunday!
The Weinerdog races are Friday morning. Unfortunately, I'm going to miss them this year. We have a very busy weekend planned, and probably won't make it to the Fest until Sunday.

The Fest is at a new location this year. Sawyer Point & Yeatman's Cove...right alongside the Ohio River. Supposed to be a HUGE Fest Tent and some other new things. Looking forward to it!

Pinnacle of Bedlam is their best recording after their 1990s heyday. Frank Mullen is at the top of his game. He is my favorite musical artist, and the band is not the same without him. However, he just started reviewing Dallas Cowboys games on YouTube. I talked football with him whenever I saw him over the last 30 years, so now we can talk Dallas Cowboys/Green Bay Packers over the internet. Check out this post, and our interaction in the comments.
