This is fantastic! Westmalle Trappist Extra. The exp date is 2024 Nov 24. I chose this glass as that's what's pictured on the back label. Cheers!!

I really liked this too! Extremely drinkable.

More thirsty than usual today. Enjoying a Weihenstephaner Festbier.

    Prost! :beers:

    Weihenstephaner Festbier in the glass.

Jaco passed away on this date in 1987, after he sustained injuries while picking a fight with a nightclub bouncer. He was bipolar (probably) and not in a good space at the time in general. Though spinning one of my favorite albums he is on. One of the best live albums, Joni Mitchell's Shadows and Light.

I'm getting ready to go to Saint Arnold later on...then on to see William Parker, who is a favorite free jazz bassist of mine. I might be back with picks later tonight, or I might not

Our version of lox and bagels (still toasting) with salmon grilled last Sunday. Founders KBS Spicy Chocolate is tasting great. Haven't seen much but the FL Gators did pretty good in the first half.

    1) Portage Chatter Chatter (4.8%): A Czech Pils from Minnesota with flavors of bitter lemon and bread notes. Smooth.
    versus
    2) Talking Waters Reality Czech (5.0%): A Czech Pilsner from Minnesota with flavors of pale malts, salted bread, and yeast. Finishes bitter. (Mismatched the two beers blind)

    Winner: Portage Chatter Chatter
Czech Pils Battle. First is Portage. Bitter lemon and yeasty notes. Outstanding and these guys make some great lagers.
Next is Talking Waters. Very similar, slightly sweeter and less bitter.
Portage gets the win here, which is opposite my review when I did this battle back in July.

Great one indeed, I sampled two Tripels today but I think I should cut back a bit on those 8% more ABV big beers. Two weeks in Crete drinking mostly Greek macro around 4-5% ABV and I’m 5 pounds lighter. Worth considering.

Oh, and just one more from this show before I head out...this is just amazing. Listen to Jaco and Micheal Brecker going nuts at the end (I didn't even mention Pat Metheny is on this album as well, good lord what a great band) :sunglasses:

It has a big taste but isn't heavy-bodied. Solid flavors.
