Is it good? I love Rye beers. Currently drinking Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye IPA

 

I've had Heady and PtE, and I'm an IPA guy as my most common purchases. But damn, this is my favorite beer. Ever. Period. This is a 2013 and the first one I've had under a year old. It tastes like there are coffee beans in it. It dominates your entire palate, and warms your stomach after just 2 sips but you can't tell it's above 10% in your mouth. My personal #1. It goes BCBCS, CWBBBW, Hopslam.

it was decent enough, I'm not upset I spent $10 on the sixer FWIW. it had nice rye-based malt flavors, and was hoppy enough to balance that out. a solid B/B+ beer, basically

Just got a 32oz growler of Ten Fidy. I'm happy.

...and a bottle of Maine Lil One for later usage.

 

It's seriously delicious!!

 

First day back to work since the holidays -- and I wake up with a bout of pink eye.
The good news was, it earned me a Free Afternoon Off Work (at least had to show up for work, the evidence spoke for itself, then I miraculously landed an open appointment at my doctor's office to get it looked at). The bad news...


... is that our Scrabble group is having its first get-together tonight since before the holidays -- and now I can't go or I could infect them (er, *infect* the Scrabble tiles...).
So I'm comforting myself with some "Room 237" Biere d'Hiver from our local brewery of excellence -- it's named after the movie and/ or perhaps its eerily inspired documentary released last year.

 

It's a different interpretation of the style. I think calling it a "poor example" is a little harsh.

My last one. Never fun when it is a beer you can't get locally, but it sure was delicious.

 

Had to break into this baby for the BCS championship! Had intentions of saving it a little longer but what the hell?!

 

Ever have a beer and you're not sure if you like or dislike it? This is the hoppiest stout I've ever had. I've chewed raw hops before and it's like chewing on hops and drinking a stout. It's actually too bitter (can't believe I'm saying that).

 

if otwoa cans ever make it to NYC, i'm going to go broke. too much unbelievable beer these days.

so glad I decided to step up my SN beer-buying, and that I chose Narwhal to begin with. what an amazingly delicious stout! go figure, SN crushed this one.

Split this bottle with a friend, and we put some into our pot of chili.
The heat was intense, but it wasn't unmanageable.
A scorcher, for sure. And to think, I still have Punishment to look forward to.
