Well. I had this awesome storyline set up (worked on it for 30 minutes), but it all got wiped out, when I was getting ready to post it. Son of a biscuit!!! I've got to get to vacuuming, so here's the abbreviated version. Basically, saying I realize I'm a day late on a lot of my posts, but hopefully y'all enjoy them all the same.

Had a good friend come over yesterday, haven't been able to hang out with him in a couple months. That's a lot, when he's the only craft drinking friend I have. Heck, really the only friend I have! Anyways, we started out at Holy City Brewing, one of Charleston's 6 breweries. With breweries like Westbrook and COAST in town, this one tends to get less attention. Anytime you visit, they always have a barrel aged or smoked pepper version of something on tap. Since they are lesser known, they tend to stay around a little longer, which is good for me!

This one was the Collision Imp Stout aged in JD barrels for a year. Had a nice bitter, oak char flavor, with a very slight bourbon finish on the end.

Next was the Julbocken, which is a Barleywine, brewed with "holiday spices". All I know, is that I don't really care much for Barleywines, but I liked this one. Tasted like spruce, malts, slight hops, and cinnamon.

The final sipper was the Funkel Dunkel. Stays true to the Munich Dunkel style, wasn't anything mind blowing, but it was decent enough. I'd drink it again.

We headed home afterwards and I brought out some special ones I had in my closet "cellar". Started off with the Olde Hickory Lindley Park. Chocolate and raspberries, what's not to like? The decanter, we got at an auction earlier for $15! What's even better, is that there was still Jim Beam in there from '86. Very good!

Second was the Evil Twin Bozo Beer. Very smooth, not overly sweet, hid the 17.2% very well.

Finished with one of my personal favorites from Bayou Teche, Miel Sauvage. A Braggot made with Louisiana honey and aged in Whiskey Barrels.

Just more good beer and football here. Working on another 4 pack of hop ranch for the early game. I took both underdogs with points. Time to see if I'm lucky or really fucking stupid,

Well, I have tumbled stone cold sober from the top level of staging with 53 pounds worth of Conn studio tuba landing on top of me...I was apparently in the minority in NOT seeing the humor in the situation. I have also been known to wander off the risers while singing...a bit less hazardous, but still gets one's attention...

My very last HB oatmeal stout (I swear - it is ALL gone now) is gracing my glass at the moment, and I think the follow up will be another Mystic Brewery Auerbach's Rauchbier - it's what you call tasty.

I've seen your posts so many times and never made the connection, but are you Ron Burgundy? Your home is filled with rich mahogany and many leather bound books!

Quiet day of playoff football and a little work around the house. Got started with BC Barleywine.

[IMG] Ready for the game with my 49ers shrine, and a couple of classic beers that were around the last time the 49ers were winning Super Bowls! I'm hoping for a Celebration today, so I might as well be drinking it too!

I love Scotch. Scotchy, Scotch, Scotch...

Don't act like you're not impressed. I'm actually something of a big deal, you know.
