1) Phase Three Linear Gradient (7.8% canned 2/17/25): A NEIPA from Chicago with DDH Citra, Amarillo, & Moteuka for flavors of orange, tangelo, some smooth lime and mango.
versus
2) Angry Chair Tampa Native (8.0% no canning date): A NEIPA from Florida with DDH Citra for flavors of orange, pineapple, citrus flower, pineapple, and green melon. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Phase Three vs. Angry Chair IPA Battle. First is Phase Three. Citra, Amarillo, and Motueka. Bright orange citrus plus some tangerine from Amarillo and smooth lime and green melon from Motueka. Excellently balanced.
Next is Angry Chair Tampa Native. All Citra here. Bright orange citrus, citrus flower and pith with some bright pineapple and mango notes, yet clean and dry. A stunning showcase of Citra hops here, and very reminiscent of Toppling Goliath DDH King Sue. That would be a fun battle. This is outstanding.
Winner: Angry Chair Tamp Native

Getting into my first bottle of Sierra Nevada's Alpha Hop Society 2024 Barrel-Aged River Spey Toffee Delight. This was my favorite at the December release party, and it delivers nicely via bottle as well. It is a toffee bomb and with the dates added they lend a lovely dark fruit vibe to go with the toffee. The Scotch barrel is not overt but provides a nice balancing element leaving an EBW appropriate level of sweetness. Tons of flavor going on in a 10.2 abv package.
