We're off to a sunny start to the day after 24 hours of intermittent rain shower - I'll start mowing after noon, assuming the lawn dries enough. Hit curb (farmers') market earlier - got some excellent Swiss chard from my favorite hydroponic supplier, but no bok choy today. The seller of "locally grown" watermelon and bananas was absent today - too bad, 'cause I wanted to order a durian.

Bourbon Barrel Imperial Porter (2025 Release) from Great Lakes. 16 fl oz can. Reviewed 07/06/25 (Review 3533). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Final impression and summation: 4 Come on people! Start dating cans in a format that doesn’t require a Little Orphan Annie decoder ring! Uncredited label artist. In general, this is a slightly pumped-up porter with a bit of bourbon flavor – nothing special – even GL agrees – just check the price point! ($4.75/16 fl oz can (including tax)/ $ 0.297 per fl oz) One and done.

RockSolid Brewing in Ball Ground, GA. Enjoying a dark Kellerbier collab with Mutation Brewing of Sandy Springs, GA. Reminds me of a less refined, young Franconian style Dunkel. Nicely done.

 

NBW and ISIL cross-post. Central Waters Brewing Twenty Seven Elijah Craig 12-Year Barrel. An imperial Stout aged in Elijah Craig 12-year barrels for 25 months. At Central Waters Brewing MKE. This is a decent barrel-aged imperial stout, but it does not reach the glory of many previous Central Waters Brewing barrel-aged imperial stouts. If I make the BeerAdvocate Zoom meeting tonight, it will be from a biker bar where my friend is performing in a hard rock covers band.

 

ISIL cross-post. Central Waters Brewing Twenty Seven Eastern Kille Barrel. An imperial Stout aged in Eastern Kille barrels for 25 months. This is about the same as the other version of this beer that was released today. I will go with a Central Waters Brewing classic before leaving. I must give a shout out to my craft beer and extreme metal brothers, @superspak and @ZlaVydra. It is not the same being in this building without you.
