    I was never a big Pro Bowl guy - but at some point in the distant past, there was at least a vibe of, "Who's better, the AFC or the NFC?" Now? Pfffft. Gimme a break. I hope they do away with it next season. Put the guys' names down as all-pro's, cut 'em a check, if you have to, and be done with it. Get that crap off of the TV though.

    That sounded waaaay more agitated than I actually feel.

    Can't wait for the Superbowl. How long do we have to wait until the Monday after Superbowl Sunday is acknowledged as a holiday? It's bullshit, I tell you. No one should have to work that day.

    That really was true; it used to be a measure of which conference was better. I guess that's mostly an outdated concept now, anyway, as that's rarely in doubt from year-to-year.

    Also, yes: roll back the Super Bowl a week, so we can take Monday off for MLK. I remember having a COB who insisted we muster at 0530 the day after the Super Bowl, because it was still a working day.

    Maybe one day I'll learn how to post pictures. I started my night with a blind tasting. It starred Lagunitas Sucks, Alewerks Bitter Valentine, and Victory Dirtwolf. Sucks took the cake. Now I'm capping off a great night with a Terrapin Wake n Bake. Not too shabby for a football-less Sunday night.

    Great beer and just terrific movies; the story is just layered and it takes more than (at least) a couple watches to really pick up on what is really go on and why.

    Sucks! Not much else I could take in - after a steady diet of Quads, black IPAs, IPAs, and Pliny - that wouldn't be overwhelmed (or simply too much). At <8%, Sucks is holding its own.


    I'm going to keep linking Steven Wilson songs until everyone else on the WBAYDN thread is in tears, damnit. :slight_smile:

    I think the worst concert I ever went to was Man or Astroman? It was when they decided to get experimental and move away from the speed surf rock they had been playing for years. It was God awful.

    Well, not entirely true; on shore, I get more holidays than most (on shore). Then again, I'll never forget deploying before Halloween, and coming back after St. Paddy's Day, without getting/sending a single e-mail to my wife and kids the entire time. You take the good with the bad. I have a ton of respect for my garbage men, because that is a rough job! (Absolutely no sarcasm; seriously, thank your garbage men next time you see them. They get it less than my fellow vets.) :slight_smile:
