...never say never...I've heard of BAs doing international beer exchanges...sounds kind of dicey, but then, BeerAdvocates (at least some) have been known to be a bold bunch :sunglasses:...

LOL! Yes we are. Dicey, pricey, or onerous as the OP of the thread initially stated it… we’ll see what happens next, Dave.

Enjoying this lovely lager from dear friends
    Second floor A/C unit installed
It’s only 102 as a high here today.
With the breath of knowledge on this thread, a question at work today was “ why does the sunlight have more bite this week” any scientific answers my friends?
    Do good
    Be well

Is it Tuesday already? How are Advocates enjoying this first heat wave of the season? Me, I'm keeping cool (92°F in the shade) with some refreshing Gaffel Kösch. Prost!

    1) Velkopopovický Kozel Ležák (4.6%): A Czech Pilsner with flavors of pale malts, lemon, buttery bread
    versus
    2) Pilsner Urquell (4.4%): The true Czech Pils that has buttery and salty flavors of diacetyl atop the bread malt. (Mismatched the two blind)

Authentic Czech Pils battle. First is Kozel. Smooth and buttery bread notes. Light lemon.
Next is Pilsner Urquell. Very similar. Slightly more salt and lemon. More bitterness as well. Both are fantastic and very similar.
Hard to beat Pilsner Urquell though, which is the gold-standard for a czech pils.
    Winner: Pilsner Urqell.

Nice review on a neglected beer style, Tom. I mentioned in our SA tread that barrel aged are the way to go with brown ales IMHO. Breweries should do that more often. New Realm did a terrific Barrel Aged American Imperial Brown Ale a couple years ago. @VABA knows what I'm talking about because I saw he reviewed it. I'd love to see them do that one again. Cheers!

Jai Alai time. Hopefully all N.E. BA's are staying safe in the extreme heat. Y'all are hotter than FL right now, it's a normal 94 feels like 104 here, I see Boston at 100 feels like 105, crazy......at least it's over in a day or two.

Right along here ba. Broccoli where, ddh iipa, other half / every where collabo. (Nelson sauvin, krush cryo, mosaic). Hop forward and plush w/ good fruit notes of mango and pear. A little off putting on the finish but nothing horrible. Decent but not anything great,

Love all/most of the KBS variants @jzeilinger but how can an Imperial Golden Ale be considered a Kentucky Breakfast Stout variation, not saying I will not enjoy it (and I will look for it) and I'm not trying to be a pain.
