At home now, unpacking and putting today’s haul away…drinking Tripping Animals’ “Gojira”, a sour ale that’s been in my fridge here for about a year now:



Not bad. Tart pineapple and tropical fruit. The sun has come out and the weather is pleasant in the low 70s. Beers on the side porch coming up…Cheers from South Charleston, WV y’all!

 

I was grabbing a few beers to take along on our trip to Erie this weekend for the 3 day wine Festival and I ran across this one.
I didn't know Genesee went full on malt liquor. It's not that good, but it'll do for packing the suitcase.

It definitely looks good, but has a slight metallic taste behind the malt & booze. If we're ice cold, it would probably be better, but it's at about 55 degrees according to my laser thermometer.

Moving on to round two. This is Black Gold's Altbier, brewed in commemoration of the Petrolia brewery's 4th anniversary. It's a decent interpretation of this German style - cheers!

 

Halves are great, I’ve been doing 1 a year for a while. Finished 3 marathons, and may do some more.
Always nice that I can count a beer as part of my carbo-loading the night before a long run!
