What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #4765

1) Drekker Metaphase (8.2% canned 11/18/24): A NEIPA from North Dakota with Citra & Nelson Sauvin for flavors of lemon and orange citrus, green citrus, grape, guava, and juicy pine
versus
2) Phase Three All Pixel Everything (8.0% canned 8/18/25): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Motueka and Nelson Sauvin for flavors of orange, green melon, berries, tropical grape. (Correctly matched the two blind)

For better or worse, today is one more revolution around the sun for me with two of my favorites from 2025. First is Drekker Metaphase. Bright Citra and Nelson. Juicy citrus plus crisp floral notes and even berry and floral notes from the Nelson. Amazing and one of Drekker's best every year.
Next is Phase Three All Pixel Everything. Citra base plus some Motueka and Nelson. The Motueka hop has become one of my favorites with the tropical lime quality, plus the berry and floral notes from Nelson. Creamy and smooth like an Other Half IPA. Probably top one or two IPAs of the year for me.
Winner: Phase Three All Pixel Everything

Second beer from the mixed pack. Meh, pretty thin for a "stout" but at least it's only faintly sweet.

Numbers ~ Kraftwerk

 

Surly Abrasive (9.2% best by 2/2025): An Imperial IPA from Minnesota with Citra hops for flavors of orange citrus rind, green pine, smooth orange and caramel with a strong bitterness.

No SN Celebration here yet, but to celebrate I found one better. Big boy at 9.2% but ranked #12 in the Imperial IPA category. Big caramel and piney flavors. thick, yet robust bitterness cleans the palate for an abrasive clean finish. I might be picking this up like @LarryV hauled in Celebration.

 

Finally - and it tastes as good as ever Well worth the effort to get it ...

 

We're supposed to have high 60 and low 34 next mon/tues, y'all prolly cooler than us.

 

No joke? Vann, you're going to have to go find that one sweater you own, aren't you?

 

Just back from a little adventure - bought a cool handmade wooden canoe for $100, and visited Brandywine Falls in the Cuyahoga Valley NP, which was very close to where the canoe was....win!
