One of the things about buying mixed packs, you never know. This may sound funky, but it's actually pretty decent.

Man, I love DirtWolf! Never see it down here in FL anymore and that's a shame. About 8 months ago I had to buy the variety 12 pack just to get 3 cans but it was well worth it. Enjoy that awesome brew. Cheers!

Chilly as hell around Central MA this evening, and there's a wind advisory in effect. Apparently a lot of power outages going on in the area as a result. I got a text from National Grid that there was an outage in my area, but luckily I still have power. I took a spin with my neighbor to check out the area and everyone seemed to have lights except for the traffic lights at Rte 146 which is an extremely busy highway.

The lights were on in all the businesses surrounding them, but the traffic lights were all out so the cops are in the road directing traffic. My neighbors son works for the fire department and he was saying that they don't know what's going on and they're chasing the problems. Hopefully we don't lose power, that would suck. Cheers!!!

Yeah, but it's stylized like Geoi. Same dude. However, it's now Bine & Vine. Not sure if the location changed.

Had a couple beers at the pub while picking up my latest Tavour box…some errands run, now home building a fire to start in a bit…an assist from Jai Alai:

Bummer you can’t get DirtWolf down there anymore, man. Glad you were able to snag a few when you could. I’ll definitely enjoy this one for you tonight — cheers!

    Revisited December 11th, 2025

Dark orange-brown color, clear; decent carbonation; thick head, off-white; dense, thick, long-lasting; fat, sticky fingers of foam line the glass. Fine toasted grain nose with a muted hint of herbal spiciness. Excellent toasted grain baseline flavor with some spruce nuance; interesting bitterness, likely a combination of the spruce tips and whatever hop profile was used. Heavy body; smooth and velvety with a touch stickiness; faintly dry.

It always is a joy to revisit a beer and find it better than before. This distinctly malt-forward offering with a deft addition of spruce tips just feels right for a December beer.

Original November 02nd, 2017 ratings, scores, and review:

    4.0 3.5 4.0 4.25 3.75; BA weighted overall score: 3.86; rDev: -3%

Cloudy, ruddy, brownish body topped with a dense, creamy head; sheets of lacing down the glass. Very faint roasted grain scent with touches light smoke and spruce. Subtle caramel malt flavor; a tad bit of smoke; a bit boozy. Heavy, creamy body; some alcohol heat.

I was hoping to experience more smoked malt and spruce tip presence in the aroma and taste, but it was rather subdued. Still, this winter ale has some exceptional mouthfeel and is fair enough for a malt-forward, cold weather ale, bringing some warmth and roasted grain character to things.

Larry, that sounds like quite a night up there. I hope the power holds for you — losing it in weather like that can turn things difficult very quickly. I’m glad you’ve still got lights for now, and hopefully the crews stay on top of everything so folks can stay safe on the roads.

Your post reminded me of a winter when I was living up in the Bighorns and working at Elk View Inn. One storm buried us so badly that the Suburban in the lot was stuck, and by the next morning the snow had drifted up to the middle of the driver’s side window. Moments like that stay with you and make you appreciate a warm room and working electricity.

Wishing you warmth and safety tonight. Cheers to you.
