First brew of the day. My daughter's club volleyball schedule is killing my football watching & beer drinking on Sundays.

 

A hard act to follow after the previous two brews but this one is up to the task.

 

I'd love to be completely done but I've agreed to help for awhile with projects on my own schedule and terms.

 

College team, maybe? I bet you were a student, and there's hardly a better way to spend a wake and bake Saturday, imho. I never watched a full game until I went to OU though (roommate was a big fan)

 

This stuff is hitting hard. Going to the dark side next.

Side Project - Vertical Ascent, robust porter, thanks to @not2quick

12oz can served in a stemless rastal. Dated 11-27-24, bottom of the can says 6.4%. Got it from @not2quick a couple months ago.

Pours black with a dense creamy head, settles into a thick dusty disk not quite reaching the tall, creamy ring around the edge. Smell is rich, dense, creamy roast and caramelized molasses. Something reminds me of a mocha.

Taste is similar, throw in a little black licorice, damp down the roast/char aspects a bit and amp up the sweetness, molasses is still a good descriptor. Creaminess is still there, too, though I can quite put a label on its character.

Mouthfeel is smooth, dense, creamy velvet. Overall, very nice porter. Very nice.
