Founders CBS that was sold as a single in one of the few places I’ve seen it around here. It doesn’t scratch the itch like it did back in the day. Perhaps the Mountie took the OG recipe with him? Another warm windy day here along the northern front range. Cheers!:beers:

Went into downtown Madrid this afternoon to visit a Beer/Wine specialty shop to pick up some rarities and other hard to find brews. I grabbed this 10% tripel for under €3. I am slightly underwhelmed by the flavor and aroma, but it’s also very drinkable and doesn’t seem like it’s as strong as it is. Very solid overall.
Also highly recommend this pizza to anyone else living in Europe too, my favorite frozen pizza maybe ever. The scent alone makes the entire kitchen smell like an amazing pasta dish.

    Lunch beer . . .

    Sierra Nevada Pale Ale

Clear, amber gold color with white cap and good lacing.

Aroma of malt sweetness followed by floral, spicy, piney citrus hops.

Flavor is malt forward with bright hops counter balancing the malt sweetness. Very likable, very approachable, rich without being heavy, spicy without being too spicy, just a beautifully balanced group of flavors which manage to be complex yet simple at the same time. Lingering aftertaste with just a bit of hop bite inviting another drink.

Happy Thursday ba. Nice easy/early day of work and I expect that to continue. Let’s get these pages moving.

Into it w/ Soupadelic- Soup du jour, dipa- single hop series (superdelic), sand city.
My second revisit and not my favorite hop. A tad sweet w/ lots of citrus notes and subtle dank. The 9% abv helps,

Some facts about that iconic smiley face:

The iconic yellow smiley face was invented in 1963 by American commercial artist Harvey Ball for the State Mutual Life Assurance Company to boost employee morale after a merger; he drew it in about 10 minutes, was paid $45, and never copyrighted it, allowing it to become a global cultural phenomenon, though simpler smiling faces existed in ancient art. Ball later created World Smile Day in 1999 to promote kindness, celebrated annually on the first Friday in October.

    Key Details:

    Creator: Harvey Ross Ball (1921-2001).

    Year: 1963.

Origin: Worcester (Wormtown), Massachusetts, for an insurance company's internal "friendship campaign".

Design: A simple, bright yellow circle with two dots for eyes and a curved smile, drawn with a black felt marker.

Legacy: Ball's design was intentionally left uncopyrighted, leading to its widespread use and commercialization, much to his delight as he wanted it to spread happiness.

World Smile Day: In 1999, Ball started World Smile Day to encourage good deeds, held on the first Friday of October.

Back from a three-day beer break, my version of Dry January. Given it is 24 degrees and windy AF i thought this 2024 Sierra Society BA Impy Stout appropriate to warm me bones. Rum Barrel is still too warming but i like the orange and chocolate bitters flavor impartation.
    Cheers!

    Good Afternoon Advocates!

Been many years since I last had a Barleywine.

This was in the cellar, a 2022. Never tried the Komes before.

Tastes like diabetes! It's good, but a whole bottle is gonna be a challenge.
