Today, the weather is much more spring-like--and both Gracie and Sundae are helping me check out the day's new brews...all three are second-time throughs, and form a nice celebration of Ontarian breweries: First, with Sundae, from Milton's Third Moon Brewing--it's their 5.2% Conjuration 24 Hazy Pale Ale...

The Frog's Hellfire wing sauce has my interest as well.

Ok, that wasn't the price, but the stupid Untapped score. Oops.

 

Drinking this Wafflebanger right now, and it's pretty interesting, a juicy DIPA with maple syrup and Mosaic hops. It smells and tastes a bit like whipped cream, marshmallowy vanilla, almost chocolatey grade-A maple syrup, hints of toasty caramelized bready grain malt, with dank resinous, tropical, citrusy and blueberry forward Mosaic hops. A real nice and unique treat, like a pastry IPA. Cheers all!

Rethymnian Brewery - Brink's Dark Organic Lager

From the island of Crete that @Shanex is particularly fond of, and specifically the city of Rethymnon. Fantastic beer.

 

SN Pils ... crisp and refreshing.

 

Ya gotta love the bottle/seal style.

1) Benediktiner Hell (5.0%): A German Helles with flavors of pale malts, yeast, bread.
versus
2) Hofbrauhaus Freising Festbier (6.1%): A German Festbier with flavors of palie malts, smooth honey, cereal and earthy Munich malts. (Correctly matched the two blind)

German Helles versus Festbier Battle. First is Benediktiner Helles. Standard German Helles, authentic. Nothing special though. Next is Hofbrauahaus Festbier. A bit more flavor complexity and sweetness here. More earthy bread notes. Giving it the win.
