A couple of Altsfadt Vienna Lagers and starting the new book by Douglas Stuart...ignore the Oprah sticker, its not my fault she wants to put her name on one of the best writers today...

1) BlackStack Estate Sale (8.2% canned 3/11/26): A NEIPA from Minnesota with Comet, Centennial and Deep Cut Cascade for flavors of orange, pineapple, peach, pineapple, berries, mango skins.
versus
2) Wax Wings The Pursuit (8.5% canned 3/8/26): A NEIPA from Michigan with flavors of mango, grapefruit, orange creamsicle, pine. (Correctly matched the two blind)

BlackStack versus Wax Wings Imperial IPA Battle. First is BlackStack Estate Sale. Reviewed this yesterday. Lots of pineapple, mango. Robust and tropical juicy in BlackStack fashion, but lends a little sweet.
Next is Wax Wings. My first try at this brewery in Michigan. Unspecified hop combo. Orange, grapefruit, pineapple, mango, followed by pithy pine and citrus to round it out. It drinks clean and dry. You'd never guess 8.5% and it hides that well. Wish I would have bought more of these, but now Wax Wings is on my Midwest radar.
Winner: Wax Wings The Pursuit

 

Right along here ba. Light cone, German pils, Grimm. Crisp, clean, and good flavor tones of grains and sour dough bread. Nice stuff,

Some chores and laundry done - shopped for (early) Mom's day flowers and food for Sunday special dinner - at 93 - not sure how many more Mom's Days she is going to have! For the moment, though - she is feisty and living large!
