Gotcha Bob, were on the same page . I really gotta get on Untappd
Greetings everyone. This has to be the single most overpriced beer I've ever had in my life. And to think I could have bought 3 bottles of Rochefort 10 instead .
Sigh. Oh well. At least I'll get a review out of it.
having this now, not bad..... but not quite that founders breakfast I had earlier.. for sure.
I finally finished the Jai Alai. So fresh, so delicious.
Now I'm sipping on an Odell Mountain Standard. Pretty close to its best by date but still tasty.
Drinking whilst watching this gem of a horror flick:
Now THAT is a brew that pretty much flies under the radar. I dug it big time!
Santa is getting a little lean on after a couple bottles of Edward with Mrs. Claus, now onto the nightcap....
BA GBS...I didn't think the GBS could get any better...I was horribly wrong!
2011 Double Bastard.
Finally, have a 2012 in hand. Cheers!
I like the glassware. Did you get that at the brewary? ISO: that Glass....
We're stayin' tuned to see if Tim spills the beans. (!!!)
Tick it my dude!
using my Johnny Walker snifter
Hey guys! For those of you crazy enough to follow my Italian craft journey, I am coming back to this one this eve.
I had opened this bottle 4 days ago. Now while I sip this one again, more of the amazing flavors reveal themselves.
I taste the oak barrels more pronounced. When you first sip this you instantly know whether you like it or not. I know this is not for everyone and it is easily to be dismissed. BUT I think those that do dismiss this are forgetting the magic at work here: taking a barley wine and transforming into something so bold and different.
I can not say much more except I enjoy this.
I was told that this stands up to Alpine Nelson and I was sure to dig it also. Pelican5 was right, kinda of. It is tasty and I'm liking it, but I know Nelson and this is no Nelson! It's a close second, from what I remember this has a juicy more fruity punch on the end and Nelson had more of that rye spice that I really like. Still very damn good and would gladly drink anytime.
Matt already spilled them. The berliner weisse homebrewing genius..
Bentlegbrewer (my friend Sam) shared this one tonight. Such an amazing BBA Oatmeal Stout!
I finally have some fresh pliny! Don't get me wrong... it's delicious but i think heady topper ruined my double ipa palate.
I scored them this way: Alpine Nelson 4.8. Karl Strauss Big Barrel 4.4. No Nelson but like you say, damn good.
Well it was a good day at work and just one more day of work and I fly home for the holidays tomorrow night. Figured I'd celebrate my last night in Atlanta for a couple weeks.
2011 KBS. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Yeah thats my description.
For tonight. A random grab at my beer store. "Oh this is new" *inserts into basket* That often gets me into trouble, but not this time. 21st Amendment Marooned on Hog Island. Damn tasty beer. I don't think I have had many oyster stouts, but if most are like this I will be seeking out more.
Finishing up my growler o' Zombie Dust ( ).
Might crack open a '08 Storm King afterwards.
Tired and a little achy after a 13.5 mile run in the woods this afternoon, so I'm gonna enjoy this bottle of Mint Chocolate Imperial Stout, most likely. Review to follow.
My vote is for Oat.
This brewing company continues to elude me. ***a-hem*** mr robinsmv!!!!!! (I hate this damn iPad, I can't bring up the cool little faces to insert...I'm a Windows geek trying to function in an Apple world tonight...grrrrr....)
My new favorite Bock! This beer is pretty freakin' awesome!
Decided on no occasion in particular to open a Tilquin Gueuze. The nice thing about this beer is that I bought it right in my hometown from my local beer store and did not have to travel an hour away. Traditional Lambics of pretty much any brand you could name were not available in CT until quite recently.
Some awful Instagram pics (@valleyofthesuds... ) taken with my awful phone of what is a pretty decent beer. Good, not great. Wish it was more viscous and a little more sweet. Considering what they were going for, I would've thought it would be.
Love the Oat... but I have an almost two year old Choklat that I think I'm gonna dig on right about... ... ... NOW! I may even swirl and dump some Makers Mark in my glass on the 2nd glass. Damn I wish they would BBA some of their Blackwater series!!!
Can I haz?
Happy B-Day Keef
Very interesting brew. Red wine character takes over a bit too much but still the great baltic thunder flavors we all know.
a few of these...
before moving on to this beer...
He told me earlier that if I make it to florida on vacation he would give me a keg of the stuff for free!
