Can we be best friends?
Got a nice refreshing 30 mile MTB ride in after work today. My saddle rail top clamp fell off unknowingly while I was riding, so I had a very unpleasant last 8 miles of riding home trying to balance a saddle on the seatpost and bottom clamp plate with my thighs Thomsons seatpost clamp design is unique. (tomorrow I will resolve this with a bike shop visit)
Great old ale, but does not live up to expectations from last time I had the 30. Very similar to the 12 and 16 I also had this year, not a whole lot of additional complexities were there. Taste of chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, vanilla, toast, toffee, oak, raisin, fig, peat smoke, leather, and roast/oak earthiness. I am going to make sure to sit on the Reserve 40 I have for a while longer. This was bottled a year ago.
Reviewed over 3 years ago, and with a previous year vintage(aka OLD). Haven't seen it fresh til today, 5/1/14 22 oz. Very delicious DIPA; definitely maltier than most, but still has great balance. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, caramel, brown sugar, bread, floral, grass, pine. Good amount of pine bitterness on the finish. A bit slick and fairly sticky mouthfeel.
Wow, Delirium Noel is still as awesome as I remember. Big raisin, plum, fig, pear, apple, apricot, banana, brown sugar, toast, clove, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Tons of complexity and well balanced yeast and deep malt flavors. I love this just as much as 2 years ago.
Nightcapping it with a Milwaukee Brewing Company Polish Moon Milk Stout. Tasty stuff. Might have to make it a double header
Another newbie in a can for me. I will pick this up again. Cheers BA!
I can't determine if this guy is bragging, complaining, or telling the truth. It's all good.
Moving on to one that used to be one of my favorites, but this last four pack does not taste up to par... Plus, it seems to have been bottled in the future. Wonder if that had anything to do with it? lol
Canadian beer with a Canadian glass. Just the wrong match. However, I love both! Cheers!
Finishing on a He'brew Genesis, LNBA4life!
I'm trying Dead Guy Ale for the second time. The first was two or three years ago before I even new craft beer like even existed. All I remember thinking back then was "... whoa, it's one of those weird beers like Arrogant Bastard that comes in the big bottles with crazy artwork and is really strong..." My how I've changed after exploring the world of imperial stouts, DIPAs, barleywines, Belgian ales, and other more intense styles. Still, I think this is a pretty tasty and refreshing bready brew. Kind of like an American pale ale, I think.
NightTime is the Right Time. Cheers!
It's Friday night... why the hell not?
Came home from work and relaxed with these two ...
Finishing up the series...very impressive! Cheers!
Palo Santo Marron... very good beer! And it too has a fishy on the label!
One of these days when I run out of IPA in my fridge, I will just stop drinking beer for about four weeks so I can get back into competitive running shape. Today, however, is not that day, so I decided to share this awesome treat with a few friends who are just starting to get into sour-ish beers:
Big up to @ocgasman for this amazing brew. Enjoy your weekend, BAs!
This is great
Better late than never.
It's not actually Duvel in the glass, but the same beer I reviewed yesterday, Milwaukee Brewing Company Hop Freak.
One more shouldn't hurt (2 of the 4 survived the fall out of the car when I got home):
Croatian lagers and anticipation of the first Saturday off in months...
Currently enjoying a glass of Bridgeport's Kingpin. Definitely hitting the spot after a long work day!
Cheers to a great weekend ahead, BAs!
Superb, wonderfully done
I raise my Duvel to you Jim
Best friends rolled through town so brought out some goodies
zoning out with a dirtwolf.
Thank you Larry Bell. Between this and Two Hearted, I will love summer!
Love that pic! =)
I swear those almonds were just in the bowl a minute ago, weird. . . Finishing up Stickee Monkee opened last evening. Still wonderful!
Had a very long day 8 of Philly Beer Week involving five different events and a small tasting. Got to try a lot of great beers from Kane, Cigar City, Funky Buddha, Saltwater, Southampton, Goose Island, DC Brau, Stillwater, Carton, Bullfrog, Alchemist and B. Nektar Meadery! Not too many pictures but here's a few:
Kane A Night to End All Dawns, Funky Budhha Last Snow, Kane Morning Bell with cinnamon and maple and CCB Founder's Fred
Southampton Double Ice Bock
Forest and Main Marius with cherries
Capping off this crazy day with:

[happy] june 6th
from 2013. hail sagan
Dieu du Ciel! / The Alchemist - Moralite
What an amazing brew. I think this is limited. Only way to describe it is as a slightly lighter Heady Topper. I will be buying more of this.
Then moved on to a bigger fish.
Enjoyed on tap at Pasadena, growler will be gone by tonight....really juicy this time, just the way I like it
Just got off work. I'm starting my weekend with this, then going to bed. Cheers
Listening: (Anyone that can listen from 6:15 - 9:15 and not react in goosebumps is far more noble than I)
"Drink With The Duvel Day ~ June 6th Eternally" is over.
I laughed, I cried, but I mostly laughed. Many souls were saved and a few were lost. I was surprised when Yog-Sothoth arrived with The Duvel. Thus, I was forced to depart this earthly plane for a few hours. It wasn't a pleasant trip, but then, this is the price I must pay for listening to the voices at night.
Equations are being solved, and numbers are being assembled by the Cthulhuic Council
and the accounting department in R'lyeh.
A full report will come at a later time.
Thanks for indulging The Duvel!
Absolutely! A legend in his own time.
It's not over...
