So I passed this up last time I saw it just because there is almost no information on the can. But that was part of the reason it cought my eye, just a sexy black can that said Lion Stout with a picture of a lion. Second time I noticed it I was talking to my beer guy, and he mentioned they had just got it in for the first time in two years and it was an import from Sri Lanka. So I thought " Bugger it, lets give it a go". And I'm happy a very tasty easy drinking imperial stout.

They got some great-looking glassware, eh? :sunglasses:
Real good drinkin' - little maltier and chewier than I recalled but still on the slightly crisper side of the DIPA spectrum; not sure about the freshness, but seemed like a well-rounded hop barrage of citrus and resin.

Aw, man - I loved it!
If it didn't sell through so quickly, I'd a gone back for more :grinning:

Dig the glass (dig the beer, too) - but dat glass is beggin' fer a Two Hearted! :stuck_out_tongue:

Dude, I know you hated that it hit NY before you - lol
    [IMG]
If it makes you feel any better, it's all gone from here now :slight_frown: :grinning:

I was not a big fan of this, but glad to try this. If I had it in the fall, maybe my opinion would change.

This, on the other hand, was absolutely delicious.

True, I was hating on pretty much the entire country since they all seemed to get it before us but seems if we get it last you won't still have it, so put that in your pipe and smoke it!

I dig it. The ginger and lime are pretty prominent but it's a nice "spiced stout" imo.

Battle Fruit Beer: Dogfish Head Festina Peche vs. Kasteel Rouge.

DFH - smells of peach, tastes like a Berliner weisse. A little more sweetness would help bring that peachiness out more. As it is, the tartness overshadows my ability to taste the peach.
Kasteel - reminds me of cough medicine. Cloying cherry flavor with bitter aftertaste. This beer needs significantly more tartness to balance the sweetness.

    Winner: DFH.
Runner up: A 75/25% DFH/Kasteel blend. Really elevated the cherries to have more tartness. Cherries dominated the peach, so DFH didn't benefit as much.

It is, and it seriously gives No Crusts a run for it's money, IMO. It tastes of wheat bread, jam, and PB all in one. Unfortunately, I don't think they made a ton of it, so I made an executive decision and drove 85 miles one way to go try it out this afternoon. It was worth of bringing a 6er back(1 6 per person limit).

Well, Brazil played poorly again. Holland scoring on a penalty kick 2 minutes into the game set the tone. I did switch to a Brazilian beer at the half. It was a lot like their team: uninspiring!

I usually wait until Sunday to have new beers in honor of NBS but when you buy the Sierra Nevada Beer Camp across America for the first time, you have 12 new beers!

    I'm with you there, brother...

I had some Two-Hearted about 1 1/2 month ago while back in Ohio, but only brought back some Oberon...should've gone with the good stuff...

I'm hoping to score some of Bell's Gustave Holst's "The Planets" series the next time I'm around OH or MI...

I use to buy Buzzards Bay beer in the early 2000's; It went out of business as about 5 years ago, was brewed by the same guy under a different name for awhile (something like 'Just Beer'); now it's back again as Buzzards Bay.

Not a bad line, I think anyone who got there by three scored. I got there at 1:45 and probably was around 150. I'm guessing some people got through twice.

Were you checking their beer finder? ( www.find.stonebrewing.com) In my experience it is updated quicker than any other brewery's finder. It's helped me find RuinTen and all of the Enjoy By's that made it out here. Cheers

 The cookies wearing off, gotta fix that  Got some fresh ciabatta earlier, going to make myself an "everything" with salami, ham, turkey, bacon, smoked gouda, onions, tomato, lettuce, and hot relish (Giadiniera's) and start wrapping it up. Cheers
