Much better on the second beverage of the night. Dark Truth Stout from Boulevard. Makes up for the Beer Camp West Coast DIPA. That was an outstanding stout. so good that I am having a bit of difficulty typing this in.:stuck_out_tongue:

I'm in NC, 30 mins from snagging Westbrook's Gose every year... getting such a kick out of seeing it being consumed all over the US. Great summer brew... good looking food too.

Thoughts so far? Haven't opened my box yet. Hitting the last leg of the fest at Mills next weekend. Bummed so many big guys have dropped out for us here in NC.

Oskar Blues Old Chub - Nitro can. Same great malty flavor but just a little more delicate on the palate with all those nitro-induced carbonation bubbles.

    Friday night showdown ...
    Pliny vs Nelson
    [IMG]
PtE bottled 7-8-14, purchased 7-18 in Escondido, CA
Nelson bottled 7-15-14, purchased at the brewery also on 7-18.

Just me and the wife, look and smell went to PtE and taste resulted in a surprisingly loud disagreement ... Hehe
We were both expecting that this would go to Nelson, but the actually side by side goes to Pliny. I personally preferred the more balanced and sophisticated taste of the Nelson with the flavor of the rye peeking through, but I understand that I am probably in the minority on that.... Ok, I'm off to finish the Nelson now and grill up some rib eyes.

I'm not big on Pilsners but the Torpedo Pils was solid, as was Myron's, but my favorite of the three is by far the There and Back.

[IMG] Two for two with this 12 pack. Bell's collaboration, they are calling it an imperial brown, more like stout for me. Really tasty!
