Enjoying the most recent Stone Enjoy By (12/26/14), solid stuff.
The highlights from a well-rounded tasting with family:
Started with New Holland Incorrigible
then Three Floyds Permanent Funeral
and Omnipollo Hypnopompa
then Hair of the Dog Fred
and finally, Revolution Deth's Tar
a good time was had by all.
Holy shit! I had almost given up on Belgian style beers. Apparently, I was barking up the wrong trees. This beer is one of the best I have ever tried of any style. One of you recommended it, but I can't remember who. Many thanks!
Started with a Celebration from the bottle, and now moved on to this...and it's really fucking good!
Cherish this vintage!
This beer is top notch! If you can get this regularly, forget about Westy 12.
Drop'n some hops
Payback Porter - Speakeasy Ales & Lagers
just to prove imma man I'm going to drink this and no Nate I didn't short change you. I think my bottle shop bought the gift sets and broke them up. I like this beer because it's over the top it's like Hoptimum with a stupid amount of hops
Tasting. 2013 and 2014 BCBS and 2014 central waters bourbon stout
It's been a long day. Traveled to my nephews engagement party which was a lot of fun. A lot of driving including Washington, DC traffic was not so much fun. Now we are on vacation. After arriving and unpacking the car the only thing cold was this....
I'm not 100% on the freshness of all of them, plus some of them were from early on for me. I think the Sensi was rated higher, just due to rating towards style. It is one of the better APA's that I've had, especially since I'm not big on them. However, @Sixpoint, shuns style guidelines, so it could be argued that it's a low ABV IPA. However, the Sixpoint IPA/DIPA's just didn't stack up on my IPA/DIPA scale, which is the style that I'm most familiar with. We got different palates and that's that. It's not gonna deter me from trying anything new from them though.
You would already be reaching into your BCBS stash. I should have nabbed one of those Ten FIDY from you.
Jackie o's mystic mama ipa
Such an interesting beer. A lot better than the regular Pumking. A lot of vanilla, gingerbread and spice. Despite the rum aged aspect of this, it's very smooth for the abv.
And...my Isles hang on by the seat of their pants. Halak played his ass off in the 3rd.
PS That Dogfish head beer thousand lager is the new king of video game beers hands down.
Only 23 Cases left to go D:
My car was only a few yards away! Why you mad brah!
I kind of forgot about it since, we just kept on poppin' bottles.
Got all of the Christmas crap out the basement and started decorating today. Watched Michigan lose but at least they made it interesting for a while. Just getting around to the first drink of the day since I had a little too much fun last night.
Finishing the growler of Kickin Strong Ale from FWB I opened on Thanksgiving. Lost some carb but still made a "hiss" when I opened the cap. Definitely not as good as it was fresh but still good.
I look away for a second and Roary The Snowman is all up in my drank.
Last of the stash of this one. This really needs to become a seasonal release.
Shut out this year, finally time to enjoy last years model.
Okay Mogli is an extrordinary beer! One note… it's just so chocolatie (sp?) That I'd suggest you enyou it on t's own, or with desret!
Nice way to call me out! . Don't worry, I had my Ten FIDY between BCBS.
Saw one of the New Belgium Folly variety packs in the store today--had never seen them around before (only their regular 6 and 12 packs) and I'd heard Fat Tire was good from several friends who'd had it, so I figured "hey, I actually have the money to afford not-super-cheap beer now, and there's five beers to try in there, so... I think I'll bring that box home."
The color of the beer's a bit different (and nicer-looking, in my opinion) in person compared to this photo... my camera apparently thought it would be a good idea to cut out most of the red tones, for some reason.
The camera did not have any effect on how good it tastes, though. That glass is much, much less full now than it was when I took that picture... XD
This was an interesting pick up. Glad I had it.

Killing off the last of summer beers I had stashed away.
Sort of a strange brew, but I'm diggin' it!
Cleaning out the fridge a little bit. Watching my Avs play Dallas.
Two of my favorite things: golf and Celebration.
A Flying-Dog Pearl Necklace.
A good beer, but I'm still looking for an oyster stout that smacks you with some briny-saltiness. The oyster element is always so hidden. Recently tried a Daughters of Poseidon, and like this beer, it was good, but I feel they leave something to be desired.
Any suggestions? I know it's a tough one, not too many options.
Love this artwork, though.
"I still have more beer to drink."
