What beer are you drinking now? #810

    This might be the sweetest beer I've ever had. The verdict is still out on this one.

    Trying a beer that has caught my eye for years, but I never pulled the gun on because it's only availbale in six packs and I'm not going to pay $15 for a beer that I've never had, especially from a brewery that i've never had a brew from. Augustiner Maximator. A local beer store was selling singles of this for like $3 so I decided to get one. Also first time drinking a doppelbock out of a snifter; I think the glass works well for this style. Anyways, I'm really enjoying this doppel. Really reminds me a barlewine light with some marzen characteristics thrown in. I would say that it's somewhere in between Capital Autmumnal Fire and Kumbacher (sp?) Eisbock in terms of taste. I'm not the biggest fan of doppelbocks, but I really do like this one.

    It's a great beer unless sat on the shelf too long, as I would pretty much say for all of their stuff.

    North Coast Brewing "Brother Thelonious". Amazing dark Belgium Abbey ale. I definitely recommend

    Showed my kids some images of the Krampus a few weeks ago, I can tell they are getting all jaded, neither seemed to sweat the possibility of a visit from him...

    I don't know how old this bottle is, but I'm not too worried about it, since I think doppelbocks can sit for a bit (1 to maybe 2 years) before they start tasting off.

    The verdict is in on bride maker; no sir, I don't like it. It was too sweet plain and simple. It even left the stickiest residue on my glass I can remember.

    Having another grapefruit sculpin and blasting the contortionist.

    Here, not so much, all our liquor stores are closed on Sunday, all beers sit at room temp & often hotter in the summer. Some store owners try to preserve & protect, many get cheap & leave the AC up...
