Some breakfast for dessert, along with the Badger hockey game
Saw a four pack on clearance for $5 and had to grab it. Yeah it's lost it's mojo. Merely a good lager now. A goddam badass brew when fresh though.
I'm keeping it gangster with a beer boot filled with Crown Town Ale, celebrating the Royals winning the AL pennant last year. I also have some deep fried catfish I caught this summer that I am eating.
Cracked this open after sitting on it for ~6 weeks. Still a bit more bitter than I expected (and probably more than my wife will like, so I'll probably end up drinking this all myself). Wasn't expecting as much chocolate/coco nib as I'm getting which was a nice surprise.
I was lucky enough to get one of these recently and....damn.
That first sip out of the can was so grassy, juicy perfect but I had to pour it. Tastes just as good in the glass. Only my second ever. Cheers.
This is really good.
Last night's closer:
A cellar pull for tonight's pseudo opener ...
It wasn't tasting quite right and really seemed off so I had to check the bottle ...
... and shame on me for not paying closer attention to my cellar!!
So went for another cellar pull instead: a 2013, still really boozy, but drinking well => .
And goin' Olde School since there's (200) channels of nothing on the "movin' picture screen" right now, IMO, this is back when it was good.
C'mon man. Even Taylor Swift had a good song or 2*. If it's sex, drugs, alcohol, and lots of electric guitar, sign me up!
*I have no evidence to support this statement.
No pics unfortunately, but I am enjoying Old Rasputin out of a tulip.
Drinking a Narwhal and calling it a night.
My treat for the rest of the night:
August Schell's Snowstorm Grand Cru (2014)....I gotta say I like it.
How about you give me one Miley Cyrus song, and we'll call it even.
Firestone Walker Velvet Merlin to go with my BBQ brisket and beans. What a great combo for a very chilly evening in Texas!
Finally watched the Showtime documentary about the recording of this album from the recently uncovered Dylan lyrics. Pretty random seeing Johnny Depp play guitar on this song, "Kansas City."
Great way to cap a tough and cold week
Enjoying a delicious Perpetual
Thank you to @Shroud0fdoom for reminding me how great this beer is
On draft I'm jealous , celebration is unbelievably drinkable all night. Good winter hoppy ale .
Starting with some Lakewood Sin Mint Temptress, tastes like a Thin Mint cookie!
Deschutes Brewery - Zarabanda
Clearing out the cellar. Bottled 7/18/13 and drinking nice.
A West Coast hop head gettin' down with a NJ D-IPA in a Tired Hands glass from PA. Lovin' it!
No pictures of brews but I stopped at Alewife in Long Island City, NY for some HF Arthur & Singlecut Billy Half-Stack - both very tasty. Listened to these among others on the train ride home - f'ing love Tool and can't wait for new album and tour
Beavis & Butthead think Tool are cool too!
Abita Wrought Iron IPA, been wanting to pick up a single of this for a couple of weeks, finally did tonight. Very glad I did, Big punch of hops right of way and great bitterness will definitely be picking up more of this.
I wouldn't touch the habanero with a 12' pole but the grapefruit is nothing short of fantastic!
Great new avatar - it's been a crazy few days
I can't decide. If it isn't love?
I gotta follow HT up with something good, right?
2013 central waters bb stout....ages so well
