My first of the year...
Every bit as fantastic as I remember...Cheers!
Why are you holding out on us, Jason?
What's the mix?
Decent winter warmer. Smells pretty good, tastes pretty bland; but is not cloyingly sweet.
Seeing as yesterday was Blue Sunday(according to NHBC FB), I broke out the 2012 bottle. Good sour! Very oaky with nice tart fruit notes, leather, grass, hay, pepper, clove, funk etc. Typical stuff that is tasty.
probably a fresh Hopslam next
just found a batch 70 on the shelves
Now that's a creative way to get rid of some of the older stuff in the fridge and make them more interesting, never thought about doing that before.
Oak aged Yeti. Quality. You would be hard pressed to find a more satisfying stout in my neck of the woods.
Unequal parts due to consumption. An American Black Ale, Coffee Stout, winter seasonal IPA, last bottle of Boston Lager, rye IPA, balanced DIPA ... one or two more to make their way. That is all I am giving up.
C,mon man. We be dyin' to know!!
Works great for hoppy beers ... the few that you may have that lost their edge but mixed with something else it is greatness. I love hoppy dark beers as well so it is all good there.
Love to mix sour / wild beers with more traditional Triples and Dubbels ... balance a drinkability can be insane.
A true proprietor never reveals his recipe for success.
heavy handed, prima pils, lucky bucket lager, zombie dust, hibernation ale, smuttynose finest kind, narwhal, homebrew.
OMW to three flloyds for the first time in about 18 hours.... very excite. All purchases almost totally promised to florida, maine, mass, carolina, and california. Glad to be able to spread the BA love.
I'm going to try that because I have some old stuff that needs to be cleared out of the fridge and right now they're equivalent to drain pours (I've been too lazy to dump 'em).
Couldn't agree more. These do my body good.
Just got off work and relaxing with this offering...
Yamar, on the surface, his mix sounds kinda horrific. But upon further review and contemplation, it sounds kinda good.
Haven't cracked it yet, but cant wait!
And if you don't?
Oh I will just waiting for it to cool down, I bought 6 so I am open to trades
Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye. Imgur is being a jerk so no pic.
Founders Imperial Stout
Yahoo Sly Rye Porter
Van Morrison "Back on Top" while drankin' some Optimator. Sorry. Don't know how to copy/paste/post pics. Google or YouTube "Van Morrison" if ya wanna hear some real shit.
Drinking some Traquair Jacobite
Listening to some Bill Evans
I think this is my favorite Evans live album. Eddie Gomez is amazing on base. Better than Scott LaFaro IMO.
Anyway, love me some Jacobite. Really one of the most unique beers I think I have ever had, still after all these years.
Just a few tonight, other then some Maker's Mark
How does the arcadia stack uo against the ba boris? boris is one of my faves, and we just got in the arcadia today... dunno if worth it to pull the trigger.
Checking out 2012 Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Cherry Stout...hmmm...vinegar notes on the nose, slightly sour on the palate, yes definitely infected.
Now o to that FIS I mentioned earlier
started with FFF Pride & Joy, now drinking this....
then for the nightcap im trying to decide between SN Narwhal or FBS. im planning on making a nice little breakfast for myself tommorow morning so half of me is debating on maybe holding the FBS for a nice lil breakfast beer before work....
My first Heady! Thanks to captstrapper
Damn that sucks, this along with PM, hope they have more luck with this years batches
So what are you ISO?
OK, I just went half and half with an Optimator and a Torpedo. Sounds horrible, eh? Not so fast, my friends. Malt plus hops equals...very interesting. Don't knock it till you've tried it. Might just be the wave of the future. or not...dunno.
I like the Boris better. IMO the arcadia was to much over the top. Boris has a nice balance of taste and alcohol which works well. Paid $7 for the arcadia bottle, love tasting something I've never had but would pic the Boris hands down.
Aye, that I did.
I know that feel bro
Asahi dry with spicy roasted chicken ramen, yakitori(stuffed mushrooms, juicy pork belly, and asparagus with thin pork)
No doubt. This years Bourbon Barrel Stout is excellent. Their base beer is lower abv when compared to other BA brews e.g. BCBS. Infection is much more likely to happen with an ingredient like cherries.
Now at home drinking this while watching The Layover
