    Light outside...light beer (color/ABV%)...light yardwork/garden-tending...makes the beer flow faster to be sure

    New Lagunitas offering for me....first pass-through unimpressive---bland, thin...won't buy again (will the second pass-through alter the opinion...we shall see

    back to back...33 years apart...musically not one step lost...vocally, DLR is taking some serious critical shots with Tokyo Dome vocals...but he has never been strong vocally---was always all about presence and enthusiasm---and that energy has a whole different vibe now...just not the same---the dude is 60 and so many expect the DLR of the golden years...not fair

    but still VH...always

    I'll tell ya what. When I was into trading, I had some bottles about a year old of HopSlam, I drank one and sent one over to a buddy. Well, guess what we were both impressed that after a freakn' year it was still very tasty.

    I just bought three six packs from the Schlafly Bottleworks location in Maplewood, MO. This special release was only brewed through March and all stores were sold out. I'm very happy I was able to buy some, great stuff.

    Pretty crappy weather here today, drizzling rain all day, but not complaining at all, as I can park my lazy butt on the couch for NASCAR and the Rockies game later (providing it's not rained out) and not feel guilty. Anyway, got my workout out of the way earlier, then had a Bloody Mary with breakfast.

    Its not a side-by-side, but I opened this right behind the High West-ified. SMS is so much more coffee-heavy and then with a little more alcohol burn. High West-ified is more even on the bourbon and coffee.
