Very interesting barley wine, has a strong coffee flavor element, enjoying it.

    Cheers!

It's a good thing we are slated to finally get some here in NNJ this upcoming week (my last purchase was actually from NYS- there are benefits from living on the border ;))- I don't think I've had my fill yet...

I think I just saw a commercial for this, but it said a date at the end that was in Feb. I wasnt paying attention, may have just been referencing the nsuper bowl date and subsequent commercial. How is it? If its half as good as Bud Light Platinum it would be half as good as one of the worst beers Ive ever had.

I keep on buying every beer I see that is brewed with raspberries. Hoping that one day I will find a beer as nice as Founders Blushing Monk. You can imagine my long trail of disappoint.

My first bottle of this year's batch.

Huge disappointment, as this was (and still is, at least the 2011 vintage) my favorite Dutch beer. This is a hot boozy mess when it's cold, it's close to fridge temp in the cellar now. Pours like a flat tire, not even as thick as I remember it. It does open up as it's getting warmer, with some nice dark chocolate notes. Thank you central heating!

Please excuse my mom's Amstel light in the back ground.. all she had to say about the gbs was. "Dont you know that 'Gingerbread' is one word, it says gbs on the label, it should just say gs."
