In my meaningless opinion, FIS is the single best non-barreled RIS a person can buy.

Finally getting this brewery in my neck of the woods. Not the greatest but not bad either. Chive on.

    Oxidized but still drinkable. :slight_frown:

Well, hell. It was drinkable for a couple minutes, but it just doesn't have much flavor and is thin and is pissing me off to keep drinking it. I was so looking forward to this. If you have a 2005 don't wait any longer. The 2007 Reserva I had a couple nights ago is freaking perfect. This is not.

Just one for me tonight, was going to have it to toast the Pats victory yesterday, but, uh...

    BOURBON COUNTY BRAND COFFEE STOUT.

Verdict: awesome. My first one ever after a TON of regular BCBS, a few Brambles, a Cherry, a Vanilla, a taste of Rare. Coffee has eluded me. Call me crazy, but I like Bramble and Cherry over this. The Coffee is awesome though...this is like picking your favorite child.

    Cheers!

Just got back from the bar/brewery. Enjoyed some Black Bottle Brewery Anarcy Porter. Hold The Government, some Odell Stone Barn Amber, and some Sierra Nevada Barrel Aged Ovila Quad.

Got to say, not a Sierra Nevada fan but I really, really enjoyed that Ovila. I didn't want the glass to end. If I didn't have to drive home I would have definitely ordered another.

Having a side-by-side comparison following my visit to the pub yesterday. I guess technically Duet wins, but I can't help but feel like regardless of the outcome, I'm the winner.

No one's opinion is meaningless on the internet! But seriously, this is a hefty ************ and I wish more brewers would aim for this kind of stout. It may not be my favorite for the style (and I've found that I generally prefer the American Double / Imperial variety to the Russian Imperial), but this is wonderfully rich and complex and deep. Brewers should try to make stouts like this before they throw it into a bourbon barrel.
