Glad you enjoyed, I will be sending you more tasty California beer soon. Going to drink a few of your bottles this weekend as I was sick most of the week and was not drinking I have some catching up to do.

My dream Friday. BP Dorado, my nerdy Star Wars book, my wife and kids watching a movie inside while I relax in front of the fire pit. Ahhhh. Cheers!

Beer #2, another new one. Knock if off with the Organic marketing, Uinta. Looks like a pretty Pils. Faint aroma, mostly grain and husk. Taste is light malt, honey. Mouthful fades fast, rather nondescript aftertaste. Nothing special.

Read reviews half way through, guess it's a mediocre Blonde.

Sculpin taste test! Finally found a sixer of Grapefruit Sculpin in Wellington, CO on Tuesday. Since we're already celebrating, we decided to try the two back to back and see what we thought...

I love them both. Textbook WC IPAs. I think the Grapefruit takes it just because it isn't overpoweringly citrus-y, just enough to enhance the already awesome Sculpin. I do wish I had some of the Habanero Sculpin to finish out the test, but oh well.

It's pretty good. I was hoping for something a little less sticky, but it is a far sight from bad so I guess I can't complain.

Horn's up and all that. One of the most energy-filled concerts your gonna hear today.... RIP

I love listening to that guy play!

He's on this track- this band was a bit of harmless fluff, but a lot of good fun as well:

I was saddened to hear the news. One of my favorite live fairly recent tracks. Always loved him with Clapton at the Crossroads festivals. He paid the cost. And he will always be The Boss.[IMG]

Growler of Lone Pint Yellow Rose, some Orval later on, and Rowan Creek Bourbon. Oh, to be cold free, the first time in over a week I can breath and enjoy a beer.

As well as some more BB King love. This is probably my favorite live recording of his. I have this on cassette, and a beat up/scratched CD that is all but unusable now. I have been looking for this on vinyl for ever. One day I will find it...

The King is dead, long live the King.

Loving all the love for BB on here, I wish I had got to see him play more than twice. One of those I was way too hammered, ( Wichita). I will mis him, but happy to know he left a great legacy.

Long hard week for me, these pending 40 hour weeks may break me... ( Add up to 15 hours of driving worst-case scenario ). I hope my endurance/enery levels pick up. Lost Forty Brewing CO. Love Honey Bock up first

    Mmmmm...classy!

More BB King from me, too. I don't know if it's possible to pick a definitive song, but this one has to be in the running:

RIP, and thanks for all the tunes and memories!

Today was my last day in the Army... 8 years, 3 months, 29 days when all is said and done - three deployments spanning 31 months between Iraq and Afghanistan and countless months spent away from home. To celebrate, I decided to crack this beast of beauty from FW:

It is simply STUNNING! Pours syrupy and viscous, dark mahagony/caramel in color, slightly lower in SRM than expected. Massive coconut/vanilla/oak/caramel, lots of sweetness, dark chocolate, some roast/spice in the aroma. Incredible depth of flavor and complexity. Each element and base beer is well represented with each sip yielding slightly different but equally incredible flavors. Incredibly rich, sweet, and chock full of barrel notes without being overbearing. Alcohol is present but not overwhelming or boozy. Medium body which works surprisingly well given the ABV and overall blend. Carbonation is dialed in perfectly to compliment the sweetness and heavy viscosity.

18th Street Devil's Spear Barleywine - had it for the first time tonight (TGIF), easily the best non-BA barleywine I've had. So smooth while still keeping the essential character of the style - I'd love to have a BA version of it. If you are in Chicagoland you owe it to yourself to find a bottle...

20% off all beer at my local Whole Foods and this is the best that I can come home with. I must have the poorest beer selection of any NorCal WF's and I live in one of the most affluent counties in the state. Go figure.
