    Earlier.

Being into craft for over a year now AND from Pittsburgh, I feel like a total dipshit admitting I didn't know Penn Pilsner isn't a pilsner. Why is it called Penn Pilsner if it's a lager? And it's a shitty lager. It's just a shade better than Yuengling. Fuck, man.

Anyway, the Sam Adams "Hop Tour" 6-Pack was cool. The Noble Pils was tasty, the Latitude 48 kinda sucks.

However, Whitewater IPA. Holy shit? Holy shit! I feel like the rating on this is too low and that if the label said something other than "Samuel Adams", people would be jacking off to this. The smell and taste are both amazing and almost reminds me of the White Oak Jai Alai that awesome BA Kirbmeist brought me. Maybe it's just me, but this was a total shocker. Sam Adams always comes up decent, but this was something else. Wish I could find this alone in a sixer, as I definitely don't want more Latitude.

    Tonight's Lineup:

    1. Cigar City Jai Alai
    2. Flying Fish Exit 16 Wild Rice Double IPA

Although I don't usually enjoy many of the offerings from Flying Fish, this Exit 16 Wild Rice IPA is quite tasty!

Ill swear by that beer. I know its like mass produced and whatnot, but it honestly tastes good. Light colored for a Doppelbock, but tastes really fuckin good.

Have you tried the Sam Adams Double Agent IPL? If you like hops the IPL blows Whitewater and Latitude out of the water (IMO). 'Not sure what the availability is on this beer, I haven't really seen it around, though.

My thoughts are that of yours. Not a drain-pour, as it's not awful, but "meh" is all I've got.

Mine was also a gift--part of a large Christmas haul given to me. I've been cranking through the mediocre brews whilst saving the better ones for last.

I gotta admit, the name is a bit of a turnoff and the concept seems gimmicky, but hot damn I got over that right quick with my first sniff. This is just like those chocolate-covered espresso beans, in liquid form. With booze. Very tasty- Salut!

I'll keep an eye out. It sounds familiar, as if I've seen it. Next time I hit Giant Eagle I'll look for it. Whitewater will be hard to top. Latitude...not so much.

Keeping it crisp and light for now. Likely moving on to some darker beers as the night progresses.

I found a pallet full of FBS and a 9 case stack out of this one. This one being a buck more at 66.99 a case. Is that a good deal??

If you like hops it's definitely worth trying if you can find it, just don't know what the shelf life will be. My In-Laws gave me a few for Christmas (he works for Sam Adams) and they were uber fresh, I usually don't get excited over their beer but this one was a definite keeper. (!) It's not often I can get my hop fix without breaking the ABV bank.
