    Oh shit, another long suffering Illini fan. Zook doesn't look so bad now, right? Beckman is a rare soul that redefines multi level incompetence! And basketball, crikes, a perennial top 10 program that can't even recruit any longer. Makes me want to cut ties altogether even though I grew up like 25 minutes from Cham-bana. .....

    I realized last time I BA posted snow was still on the ground. It has been entirely too long.

    I spent spring mostly away from computers and the cave and managed to get over 200 miles of walking done in the meantime. This slightly beats last decade's total of zero miles walked. I did manage to overdo it and ended up with some plantar fasciitis. Plantar fasciitis sucks ass with a salty tongue. If the soles of your sneakers start to delaminate, crazy glue is not the answer. Buy some new ones.

    In any case, nothing beats the forced recuperation of putting your feet up and drinking some brews on the 4th.

    And moving on the City Tavern Pale Ale: This has a nice gentle grapefruit.

    Just imagine the drunken philosophizing that went on at the city tavern during the founding and the conjunction of events that led to the declaration.

    Bottled 6/15/15.....the freshest I have had this, I believe.

    With some Goatsnake. Took a few listens but it now has its claws fully hooked into me. Perhaps their best album to date. No rust on their wheels at all after their little sabbatical.

    London on July 4th--not their day but those guys will celebrate anything.

    Hit the Cask ale hard--Fullers ESB, Chiswick and London Pride in the darkest pubs you could imagine--amazing--then sat out for something a little different.

    Gina knows her stuff--put me on some awesome local stuff and sent me to a local place "craft" place a block away---
    The Rake http://www.utobeer.co.uk/the-rake/. She was all over American stuff.

    This lovely lady pulled the Jaipur--(note the Liberty ale on tap!)

    Solid local IPA. On my way back to the table for a pic--tiny sloshed over the 50cl glass (filled to the brim) before I could take a big pull. Local said--"son--when you buy the house here, you get all of it!!!
