    Reviews:

This was refreshingly delicious! Aromas and flavors of lightly tart grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, cracker, bread, and light herbal/grassy hop notes. Light earthy bitterness and fruit tartness; with a very smooth and crisp finish with a touch of lingering acidity. Highly flavorful with good balance between the lager and grapefruit juice flavors. Great bitter/tart/sweetness balance. I may very well buy this again. Really excellent for the style! The only other radler I've had was the Schofferhoffer, and that was a bit bland compared to this. This tasted much more vibrant.

Very good IPA. Aromas were muted but nice. Aromas and flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, and pine; with some light honey/toasted bready malt and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Good sized pine/citrus rind bitter finish; with a very resinous/sticky mouthfeel with some slight creaminess. Lingering hop oils on the palate for a while, but they don't become astringent at all as you finish the glass. Another one for the sticky pine fans; lots of nice overall hop complexity going on; strong on bitterness but not cloying. Really enjoyable.

Thankfully this is supposed to be infected . This was just really great overall. Aromas and flavors of big tart cherry, cranberry, green apple, lemon, red grape, plum, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted oak, vanilla, bourbon, light red wine vinegar/leather, and light musty funk. Nice tart/acidic finish with some oak/bourbon spiciness. Very smooth and moderately acidic finish; with great balance of acidity/sweetness. Very smooth. Really impressive, all around great standard Flanders red complexity and balance of flavors. You get a very noticeable character from the bourbon barrels you would not see in a genuine example; but it doesn't overtake the classic flavors overall. Really excellent!

    Cheers!

Here is a case where expectations can color an impression, at least initially. My first few sips of this (Off Color Brewing - Troublesome) were a bit of a surprise. Based on the style, and the nose, I was expecting much more of a sour/tart profile. It just wasn't there. The more I drink of it, the more I like it, and the more I detect a very subtle tartness. An interesting interpretation of a style that I have only had a few of, and this is a bit of a departure. Although, based on the description of their approach, I don't think they were trying to nail a typical Gose.

5.99 for Prairie Bomb at my place! And that is FULL markup! I am in Kansas though...so the journey from Tulsa for these cases is not far. I assume that the cost goes up the further the distro.

Victory DirtWolf. It's been a really long time since I've had this. I was at the store and I saw the last 4 pack of this hiding toward the back of the shelf. I checked to make sure it was fresh and grabbed it. It's every bit as good as I remembered!

Re: your take on Citrusinensis. I find it interesting that many of us immediately compare this to GF Sculpin. That was my first mental comparison too. I guess there are enough similarities that they beg the comparison, but they are both good in their own right, in somewhat different ways. I like them both with a bit of an edge going to Citrusinensis. Alas, it won't matter soon because it will be going away shortly...I just shed a tear.
