This one's a bit of a let down
Just curious, did you drink it fresh (From the fall release?) I'm thinking of aging mine for a few months. I had heard great things about it.
Yeah, had it fresh. It's by no means a bad beer, just more average than I expected.
Currently in the Carolinas had my first Westbrook Gose (amazing) and went to Sierra Nevada's Mills River brewery.
A fine specimen indeed. Gonna have to place a other order soon!!
I was out at the local and we had a Bench Mosaic Grove, Mingus Dew and Jelly King.
The Mingus Dew was the fav.
Decent. Maple and coffee are quite subtle. Fairly sweet, does not taste like 11.5%!!
How do you do it!
This was sublime in my opinion. Not mind blowing but perfect for what it is.
Enjoying this. Not a lot of lactose. More chocolate and vanilla. Has some age on it so that might be part of it.
That is a good one! Have not had in a while. Will have to revisit soon!
Finishing with a tasty grissette.
Enjoying my new drinking vessel... Gonna crush this bottle in no time.
Does haf hours deliver in Quebec ? Probably a dumb question with our dinosaur laws. . .
Unibroue vertical! I never got the 2015 though. The 2013 had a dry cork, lost a bit of carbonation and was getting oxidized. The 2014 was sublime. The fresh 2016 seemed fruitier than ever, so the spicing wasn't as forward. Some aging potential with the 2016 for sure.
Had the 2016 this week as well and thought it was a notch above previous years
Motorcycling in Vermont, it's 4 degrees, what do you have when you stop to warm up? Hill S & S 8 of course!
Followed by Lawson's Big Hoppy.
Finally today's take home from VT.
Thanks to dabeerbuddha...
Not as hoppy as expected, but wow this is tart!
I'd say it's better than Nectarous, but I prefered Jelly King.
I've got a 2013 in my fridge... Sounds like it's past its prime.
Atta boy! What kind of bike you ride?
The cork was dry, so hopefully yours is better... Should be good for 5 years!
And another from dabeerbuddha...
Now I'm waffling... It's good, but I liked the straight up jelly King better. This one gives me the impression of under-type fruit. And it doesn't have the same depth (slight funk) as the HHOE. That Yalla Yalla was really great... Looking forward to some more!
VFR 750. You ride? Was real cold, hit some snow too, but man great day overall!!
Nice ride, looks fun!! You're a trooper. I ride an R1200C, but not often enough!! I put my bike away a couple weeks back when the highs were below 10 degrees. Wasn't expecting this November heat wave!
Finally came across this one. Interesting take.
Thanks to @dabeerbuddha for this treat! Enigma & Galaxy
Thanks @byronic , my 2nd from HHoE, and another terrific beer. Time to place an order I think
Dabeerbuddha strikes again:
I don't like it as much as the citra, but it actually has a bit more depth, with a nice leathery funk. Lots of wine-like flavours as well.
And another Yalla Yalla from dabeerbuddha,
Good, but flavour and aroma is not as good as the other two. That said, the tartness is a not as bold (which I prefer) and it leaves a beautiful lace.
Fuggles and Warlock REI Boysenberry Sour
Sort of a Belgian IPA, triple mash up, with a hint of sourness. 2015 vintage at 10%:
Thanks again Dabeerbuddha!
First beer for a Friday evening. This is my first brew from the 'peg.
Really tropical with little resinous finish. I'm impressed.
Big thank you @TeemuWPG !
Steamworks won best of show at the 2016 BC Beer Awards, and it is very good... Juicy and dank:
That brew is on my want list!
That Bellwoods glass up there is a beaut.
Opened up a Jelly King during the Jets game - could very well be the most enjoyable beer I've ever tried. I'm dying to get to Toronto for a visit now.
