Another great Almanac and a welcome break from all the BA Stouts going down these past couple weeks.

    Great story behind this brew.
Poured insanely still. The Drie Fontenien shines through.

Pretty good, did not expect so much sourness to come out of this.

P49 Bodhisattva hasn't been as hoppy as the first release in the Advent box last year, but it's always good:

Nice bottle from BTP. Brett forward. Sweet citrus with a bitter oak finish. Would like to see more along these lines from them.

That's odd. I was pretty blown away by that one.
First IPL I've ever had and the hops were so citrusy and juicy.
I will definitely grab another couple cans if I see it again.
You should probably give it another chance at some point. IMO.

That's exactly what I had heard, and the few offerings I have had from them were very good.
And the price point is excellent. I really think I got a fairly old 4-pack...I thought they dated their stuff, but could not find one.

Not sure what gave me the idea to try this one.
Very solid. Rich flavours. Rye adds a nice backing.

Love me some old ales. This 2014 J.W. Lees aged in calvados casks really did it for me. This is a style that's lacking from Canadian breweries. I know St Ambroise has a nice one, if there are others let me know

Can't wait until somebody in Winnipeg starts putting their spin on this style. The closest I can find hazy IPAs is 3 hours away in Moorhead, MN. I'll be heading there next month for one of their can releases and if I like what Junkyard has to offer, I might have to start making the trip every so often.

They have a Shake-o-matic lactose IPA series that is getting rave reviews. Curious to try it out.

I have got a serious love of geuze going on. It may not be Cantillon or 3F but it could fool most. Leather, cedar, sandlewood, earthiness. Old world awesome.

    Dark sour on Cherries.
Liking this sour. A little like Oud Bruin without the barrel aspect. Apprearance is dark and rich black cherry with some murkiness. Nice carbonation but very little head after the initial pour. Not even a rim lacing. Dark cherry with molasses nose. Nice bite of underlying acidity. Caramel notes from its ancestry. Fresh cherry. Tart Apple. Not overly sour.

How does it compare to regular Ten Fidy?

  37. Jerk_Store

    Jerk_Store Initiate (0) Feb 13, 2015 Canada (QC)

Definitely get the barrel, way sweeter, toasted coconut, vanilla, got a touch of booze whereas the regular is more of a straight roasted malt profile. My beef with regular Ten Fidy is that the smell and flavour are a bit muted. For my palate, I prefer the regular. I often prefer regular versions to BA versions. But definitely worth picking up/trying
