That's a great sour that can stand with the best kettle sours in Canada. @Benjjjamin Has treated me with one or 2 before. Very generous!

Whats the story behind this one? See it sitting on the shelve and was tempting to grab because of your post.

Got sure how it is labeled in BC. In Ontario it is Beersel Morning. Better know as Beersel Mattina. From the BA description.....A blend of New Morning and 18 month aged 3 Fonteinen Lambic refined for at least 12 months in bottle. It has a surprisingly citrus nose of leather, cellar and animal with hints of dried flowers and honey. Lasting and sapid in the mouth with a sour finish that always makes the lovers of this blend smile.
This beer could very well make you develop an addiction for spontaneous fermentation and turn your entire world upside down!

After a mechanical breakdown, 3 Fonteinen Brewery of Beersel (possibly the best Lambic blender in the world) had economic damage in the summer of 2009. The news caused such a stir in the International beer movement that I called Armand to know how things were. As he needed to sell his Lambic, I immediately got inspired to blend our New Morning with his beer. We selected three 18 month old Lambic barrels that we siphoned in a small tank on our truck. The journey back was long and hard, myself and Manuel took turns driving through Belgium, France and Italy only stopping for gas. After days hand bottling and months of maturation, the outcome has gone over and beyond our expectations and we can say with pride that it was worth it!

    For the love of beer!
    Cheers!

My inlaws went to the States for a quick trip and asked if I wanted anything... I told them not to worry about it. They came back with a 4-pack of the only BBA Central Waters seasonal brew I have yet had the chance to enjoy. Not surprisingly, it is insanely delicious. I love my inlaws!!!

A really good brew that morphs the style guidelines... more of a British Barley Wine with a good dose of new world hops.

Scored a couple of beers that I'd never had before. First up:

My friend moved to Boston and, while he has yet to bring me any Trillium or Treehouse beers, he somehow managed to bring me back 2 bottles of Pliny from his West Coast trip! I had to split the first one about 5 ways, but the second was all for me. It's a great beer, but it has been copied so many times that it isn't very surprising for a first-time drinker in 2017. It's a piney, clean DIPA. Would definitely drink it regularly if I could buy it locally, but I'm not going to lose sleep over the fact that it isn't available around here. Very happy to have it checked off my bucket list, though!

Walked into the right store at the right time and managed to land one of these for the first time. I finally understand why everyone here is so crazy for the stuff - it's basically a New England IPA. Very soft, not too bitter, aromatic, reminds me somewhat of the stuff I got at Foam in Burlington. I like the style, but my preferred IPAs are the ones that sit somewhere between this and the West Coast style - stuff like Heady Topper. That said, it's a very good beer and I will definitely buy it again...if I ever see it on shelves.

New distribution in my area. Wanted more from this sour. Had the Galaxy, Amarillo and Mosaic and enjoyed. This is thin and watery. A tad disappointed.

Finishing with a fun beer. Grimm has treated me well and I haven't even tried their pale ales. Well constructed brews. Sour, light sweetness, good carb.

A very good imperial stout. Roasted malt, vanilla, bourbon, bitter dark chocolate, good carbonation, creamy. Everything's there!

Great when it's super fresh, but diminishes within weeks. After that, it seems to remain fairly stable for months in the fridge.

Liking the To Øl beers lately. They are consistently making sours that are well executed. This one is especially good. I will be searching It out for the summer months.

On the topic of sweet, sweet nectar.....

I can feel my trust issues with random new breweries and QC IPAs fade with each sip.

Nice choice of glassware for an IIPL. If that's any representation of quality that is some fine beer!
