Couple nice geuze from @Benjjjamin . Thanks man. Shared these today with a couple friends and we had a great afternoon. Both beers expressing big league flavours. Leather, cedar, cider vinegar, cheese. Great to share beers that have been shared with me.

From yesterday... Best Case Ontario. [IMG]
Certainly unique, but I can't say I loved it. Some hints of Brett-like flavour that could be great if they developed.

Dipped into some fine brews last night. The Avery was a fantastic barrel aged sour, both the Dragons Milk variants were fantastic (Coconut edged the Vanilla Chai though FTW), and the Hop Shot was super unique and incredibly delicious at 22%.

Took a chance on a "new" IPA from Pit Caribou last night only to realize halfway through the bottle that it was just a rebranding of their American IPA...only now in less-cost-effective 500 mL bottles.

I think I'm pretty much done with those guys at this point.

Yes. From the description, I almost thought it was going to be their take on a NE IPA. But it was just more of the same, only more expensive. I will say that at least this batch didn't taste super stale - the last few times I've picked up their American IPA it was barely drinkable, it was so old. When I first started drinking IPAs I liked it a lot (and there weren't that many good IPAs to be found in Quebec), but now I find it overly sweet and bitter. Plus there's a much bigger selection of good hoppy beers that are made here these days.

Had a couple hoppy offerings from LIC Beer Project and man, those guys aren't messin' around! Hollows and Higher Burning were both top notch, Hollows was on par with Trillium IMO

Have you guys tried Pit Caribou's Session IPA de Lesseps yet? Think that's as NE-style as you're gonna get from them for now. Super easy drinking, juicy and hazy. Really enjoyed it when I was in Montréal recently.

This is as close to lambic/Geuze as I have had domestically. Ceci was interesting. And barrel notes on Grandmas Boy 2017 are notable but the subtle, delicate nuances from this brew are exciting.

I snagged a few cans of Vox Pop IPA and I'm pretty happy with 'em. It's another IPA that falls on the New England end of the scale - low bitterness, not a ton of body - but it's well-made and the aroma is excellent. Definitely one that I'll buy again when I see it.

I've heard great things about this beer so I am really happy to have tried it!

Juicy. Orange, tangerine and grapefruit. Smooth. Minimal bitterness. Substantial body. I could drink this all the time. Reminds me of Bellwoods Jutsu in many ways. Sweet!

The way it works is they get people to vote for the next hop variety. Next batch will be a smaller release and will be Nelson Sauvin. Given how good this was, pretty stoked about the NS version!

PEG Beer here in Winnipeg started a taproom only experimental small batch series and while I didn't get a chance to try last week's, I think they found a winner with this one. They did a 7.9% ABV Sour Black Cherry Stout. [IMG] Super tart upfront, but definitely maintained the other characteristics of a stout. Even as a guy who doesn't always care for stouts, I was super impressed. Would also love to know of any other beers out there like this, as it was totally unique to me! PEG Beer has really been hitting the mark lately, they're doing a lot of beers to appeal to the masses without taking a lot of risks, but between their hoppy varieties and this experimental series where they're getting a bit creative, I'm really starting to enjoy their beer. Their (big) taproom was standing room only last night at 7:30 PM.

Nice example of a NEIPA from a great brewery. Easy drinking.

Great hazy leaping lords. A sweetheart of a DIPA. Nice use of malts. Balanced. Really nice to get another great example of a true NEIPA.

This one surprised me. Such a great brew.

Great IPA backing a subtle fruiting. Soft mouthfeel. A juice dream. BBco has a great thing going here. Probably my favourite of the BBco beers I have had recently. Almost perfect bitterness to sweetness ratio for my taste buds. The more I drink the better it gets!
