    Superflux Happyness... damn that's good.

I don't know what hops they used, but it seems a bit heavy on the Simcoe... otherwise, great flavour and perfect balance.

I picked up a four-pack of Immoralité the other day. It's not a great beer, so I wouldn't go out of my way to get it, but it was right there in the store fridge. It makes a decent counterpoint to all the NE-style IPAs I've been drinking lately, so I'm happy enough with it.

Yeah, I agree. I don't really get the Immoralité hate that some people seem to have. Last year it was "too old", this year it was fresh and I still feel like I have mainly heard negative comments about it. I thought it was a well-made, bitter IIPA both batches. Like you say, it is not a fruity IPA like those that are slowly taking over the world. It is a little too boozy for my tastes (I think it tasted like fermented citrus oil or something), but other than that it is a decent IPA, I think. Not too expensive either.

I think it stems from the expectations. Many thought DDC+IIPA=Great, so with that in mind, it did fall short, for me anyway. In fact, their whole lineup of new beers fell short last year (for me at least)

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Now that my expectations have been calibrated, it's something that I'll be happy to pick up when I see it, because honestly I don''t think there are a lot of Quebec DIPAs in this style to be had elsewhere. But I wouldn't drop everything to get to a store just because they have it in stock.

Doesn't mean I wouldn't like to see a DIPA from DDC that really captures the magic, though. Hopefully they'll keep trying things and come up with a better recipe. I don't mind the booziness in this one, by the way. It reminds me of The Crusher, which I absolutely love, just in a less-good (and more easily attainable) form.

In other news, I WAS drinking Boréale's IPA du Nord-Est (Episode 4) on tap this past weekend and it has to be by far the best IPA in Canada. For those who can attend the can release (where are they anyway?) highly recommended and if you can, trade with someone in Quebec for a can or two.

After the Rainbow (and some dinner), I went for the Arcane 17. Although it's much lighter, it certainly held its own, and seemed more refined. Leaning towards an ISA and very crushable.

Earlier today, LTM Saison Brett, which I actually picked up in BC. [IMG]
Surprisingly tart and I thoroughly enjoyed the first glass. Unfortunately after that there was a lot of sediment that got mixed in, and it really wasn't very good.

Perhaps a bit better than their 9% RIS, but I preferred the Tokai... that was a surprisingly good brew. These guys have really upped their game in the last couple of years.

Celebrating a weekend full of wins with a bit of beer and a bit of wine. My 2nd Dialed In variant, and these are just so different from other Imperial IPA's.

Finished my yard work before the rain storm. Had a Double Dry Hopped Publick House, which was epic... no way to follow that with anything hoppy, so I settled in with a Zombie Apocalypse.

Good, but a bit overwhelmed by coffee flavour.

    Thanks to @BakaGaijin for both!

Digging into my CanBIF haul. This Redline Double Clutch DIPA is top-notch. After drinking Superflux lately, this is right in the ballpark. Thanks @Coronaeus

Glad you enjoy. I think both Clutch and Double Clutch are among the better local IPAs at the moment. Redline as a whole is an under appreciated brewery. It might have to do with the fact that it is in a non-descript strip mall in "beautiful" Barrie. I can't think of a less appealing place to go for a good beer. One of the few spots that do Crowlers too.

Btw. I saw your message and will respond shortly. Cheers!

Collective Arts IPA No. 1. It made a brief appearance on the top 100, and I see why. Perhaps a bit heavy on the Simcoe for me, but otherwise a great brew!
