Sir John Tombée du Ciel QDH TIPA. The best IPA from Sir John I’ve enjoyed to date. Drinks like a DIPA which is good in my books.

A decent enough IPA featuring Idaho 7. Think tangerine LifeSaver. It sure did travel a long way to find me!

 

Not drinking a lot of IPA these days, at least the hazy kind, but this was canned two weeks ago and is tasting spectacular.

 

Forgot to post this one, had it the other night. Big bottle was a little much.

 

Four Winds (my local brewery) Porter, I am honestly a little blown away at how good this beer is., Not a style I look for, but this is a rich brew, and no usual long bitter ending, which I have had from this style., Part of their original series 8 pack (retails for $20.,00) at the brewery).

 

We get a lot of somewhat oddball stuff show up on ANBL shelves. Just wish we could get the St Ambroise Oatmeal Stout and Pale Ale like we used to regularly



Love this beer. Had I know it would fly off the shelves and not get restocked, I would have bought more than one.

 

Les Trois Mousquetaires Grande Cuvée Stout Impériale...



Both the glassware and the bottle were, at different times, courtesy of the incomparable @TheDoctor with whom, due to plague and border closures and what-not, I've been unable to clink actual, analog glasses for a couple of years. Here's hoping 2022 will be kinder.

This was my first beer of 2022 and will be the last for a few months. Recently I've taken to hibeernating from around New Years (or whenever the beer is gone) until opening the camp sometime in April (or whenever the snow has melted) so I can lose the weight that I have every intention of gaining back again during the summer.

So, with gratitude for your hospitality, I now respectfully return this forum to actual Canadians.

My last can of last winter’s batch of Pump House Kazak RIS. Brewery subsequently changed hands, not sure if this will be released again. Really nice, though.

 

My 1,000th beer on this site. A tall bottle of Fairweather Brewing Wishing Well. The 2019 version, from before the world went mad.

 

Pulled a 2013 bottle from the cellar tonight.

 

How is that aged? And great glass to go with it.

 

I think it’s lost some body and carbonation, but I don’t mind this (personal preference). Prominent sweetness/brown sugar and dark fruits. A great sipper on a cold night.

 

Lesser carb is something I can get behind, I find most belgian styles a bit too heavy on the carb.
