What beer are you drinking now, Canada?

From last night.

Bellwoods An IPA - West Coast Style. Quite good.

 

Finally a non-NEIPA by them! Glad to see that happen.

 

As a former employee of Nortel, I find the typo (it is a typo, right?) hilarious.

But damn, I love that beer.

 

Hitachino Espresso Stout from Ibaraki prefecture in Japan. Gifted by a friend who has flown in from Tokyo.
Pleasant, with a medium espresso flavour, not bad for watching some hockey on the tube.

 

Review, review, review! This has been on top of my want list for years.

Is it easy to obtain in QC?

 

They usually have it available for Peché Day and then from the cellar sale a couple times a year. Pretty easy to get.

Where are you in Ontario? I may still have one or two from 2020.

 

GTA, Bolton, but work in Toronto.

Only once a day eh, that's crazy. I bet bar Volo gets some in if they're luxky.

 

Godspeed, Volo and a couple other spots should have it on tap if a normal Peché Day goes off this year.

 

Had Bellwoods <.5% last night. An NA beer...very weird.

 

Hey figured I could get a fast response on this thread. Does Puppers Stack/Labott Brewing come in bottles? I was told it is cans only.

 

The first contract was with Stack in Sudbury. That was all canned. That contract expired and the beer wasn’t available for a while. It is now brewed by Mill Street, a craft subsidiary of Labatt. As far as I can tell, still only available in cans.

Amsterdam Spring Bock. First time having this in about seven years. I like it more now than I did back then.

 

A really nice, new but old school IPA from Grimross.

 

Damn straight. It's going to be a core offering and it will be in my fridge on the regular.

I'd call it a hoppy British IPA with American influence.

 

For sure! The Maritime Pale Ale and Cream Ale are also very solid for what they are. The Cream in particular, the last time I had it, drank more like a British Golden and really hit the spot.

 

Delicious, but the 10% is incredibly well hidden and exceptionally dangerous.

Starting my Saturday off will a Peche Mortel - Dulce De Leche @ 9.5% (341 ml bottle) , one of four beers I get to sample from the Peche Collection 2022

Some Peché day imbibing Peché Mortel Tajumulco, Dulce de Leche and Kumquat. All good, but the Tajumulco was my favourite.
