Me, I have a Beer Book. It's a nice, black accounting book that says "Cash" in gold letters on the front. I took a piece of white duct tape and taped over it and in a black permanent marker, wrote, "BEER" over that.

I have all the beers I've ever tried in it, categorized by brewing company, with side margins for room to write the beer style and my personal preferences. And complete with an index. Sounds corny, but if I ever whipped it out for ya to thumb through it, you'd be impressed how many can accumulate over the years.

What other rituals or collections do yall keep?

I've taken a photo of every new beer I've had since about 2007. I used to post them to my website at frothyhead.com, but I've been really lazy about it in recent years (and it's apparently been attacked by comment spammers recently... oy...), but I still maintain an Instagram with a selection of beers I drink. I still take the photos, I just don't do anything with them. I'm working on a new site (I'm a programmer by profession) but who knows if I'll finish it.

I also collect bottles, but there is very little rhyme or reason to this - when my gut tells me to save the bottle, I do. I have maybe 100 bottles. The most recent ones are on a shelf in the kitchen, but once my girlfriend decides this has become unwieldy, they get put in boxes in the basement. Someday maybe I'll have my own space for them...

my friend's friend has an inherited beer can/bottle wall he inherited from his father. the family "man cave" with rows of bookshelves custom built around the entire wall of the basement. thousands of beer cans and bottles. its amazing.

I collect every Three Floyds bomber I can get my hands on. Drink em and save em, love the artwork. Will switch them out if I drink again and find one with better label.

I use my hand forged bottle opener each and every time. Won't open the beer without it. I always take a photo also. =)

The last beer of a six pack is the one I sit on until I can take notes properly on it. Also, I have a knack for switching between cans and bottles because I collect the bottle caps while my dad collects the cans.

I take pictures of everything I drink- glass and bottle if applicable. I don't do much with it aside from posting on the latest What Beer Are You Drinking Right now? thread, though. One of these days I'll go through my phone and sort through things. Its mostly fun to flip through them when I'm bored and recall the beer and who I was drinking with.

Quaintness must be important to you, otherwise, what you've collected in information would be perfect for a database or spreadsheet. But, do it the way you want. :stuck_out_tongue:

To answer your question, I collect everything short of being a hoarder. I have one bottle/can of everything that I've drank that came in a bottle or can (just went past 1,800); I have labels stripped from many of the extra bottles that I use for homebrew; I have crown caps from everything I've drank plus many others from 'donation' sources (over 4,000); and I have coasters, stickers, pins, etc. that I've picked up a beer fests, breweries, etc. All of these items are kept cataloged on a spreadsheet so that I can keep track of things. Okay, well, maybe you can call me a hoarder.

Pictures and bottle caps . . . I tried saving my bottles but the space they require is more than I can spare at the moment. Now, only special bombers (usually 3 Floyds), get pride of place. I like the idea of a beer journal. I have yet to take my senses into review mode. Maybe a journal would help.

And I say that while I am drinking a beer in a glassware from _______ brewery, opened with a bottle opener from ______ brewery while wearing a shirt and baseball cap from _________ and ________ breweries. Guess it's worse than I thought.

well, this is only my second apt i share with my fiance... and it isnt the biggest, we dont have the most money and we dont have the biggest place... that, and the spare bedroom has been converted into her shoes/cloths room. thats okay, cause the living room is mine! long story short, theres just no damn room for all them bottles and cans. i am even having a hard time finding space for my 4 growlers. a book is a lot more convenient. but also portable. i get requests to "bring your beer book!" a lot.
