It appears I'm a bit older than some of y'all...

2001 was the year in which I first tried two of my favorites - Orkney Skullsplitter (in AZ, of all places) and La Fin Du Monde. Both of which I drank from the bottle. I thought La Fin tasted really strange, but it didn't stop me from finishing off the 4-pack and buying more. I remember buying it because I thought it was the most bad-ass name and label I'd ever seen.

I do also remember having pounded a bomber of Delirium Tremens (again, straight from the bottle, dregs n all), sitting on an old roommate's couch one night, while I was griping about my new roommate. That would've been about a week and a half before 9/11...

On a regular basis though, I do recall a buddy and me often sharing Victory and/or Flying Fish sixers in his dorm room. Hop Devil, Golden Monkey, and FF Porter were the usual... wait, where was I getting all the money to drink these beers??... I didn't even have a job...

I'm pretty sure I wasn't a beer drinker in 2001. 2002 on the other hand...

    2001? 1554.

It was probably my favorite beer then. One of the first beers I really loved. It doesn't taste the same anymore. I assume that's mainly nostalgia, but who knows. :flushed:

Pretty sure that year I had my first "Fogerty" at Mugs Ale House. Half Anchor Liberty, Half Anchor Old Foghorn. It was a regular thing at Mugs for a while. They also did a mix using a Lindemans lambic, but the name or ingredients aren't coming to me. Around then I was also into Brooklyn Brewery's Monster barleywine. Went through a brief barleywine phase until one night... you know the rest of the story.

I was in 5th grade when everything went down, not knowing what was even going on around me....wasn't drinking anything then, but I'm drinking the good stuff now and cheers to the fallen Americans, men and women, and service members, whether it be military or officers. We take so many things for granted nowadays, but we just need to stop and think how blessed we truly are. Cheers fellas!

I was 15 at the time and actually more or less hated beer as a whole, so probably Smirnoff Ice or those Bacardi wine cooler things.

Sam was my beer for period in the 90s. Might have had my last one in 2001. Corona -- I had quite a few of those too. With lime, natch.

Iron City. Yuengling Lager. Miller High Life. Miller Lite.

When I wanted something "sophisticated" I went with Sam Adams BL or Bass Ale.

I drank a ton of icehouse before I got into craft also. It was hard to beat 3.50 for a six pack of 16 oz cans.

Miller Lite. We were a bunch of over the hill rockers, and some of my band mates and I thought we could shed some pounds, by pounding lower abv beers...it worked too!
