Sadly, both HolidaySpiceLager and BourbonBarrelAgedHolidaySpice are retired, according to Beer Advocate. I didn't see either last year. Two years ago, we were on the brewery tour on Friday (IIRC) when the owner, Russ, gives tours. I half-begged him to bring back the Holiday Spice Lager. They did release the BBA Holiday Spice that year. But that's been it, from what I've seen.

If you liked the Holiday Spice Lager, and you get a chance to buy some, try Lakefront's Imperial Pumpkin Ale. It's taste is reminiscent of Holiday Spice Lager.

Is Alaskan Smoked Porter a winter beer? Meh, I'd prefer to drink it during colder weather, so it is for me

It must be at least a winter seasonal (if not using the holidays as part of that definition) because I noticed one of my local stores has a new display of it.

I drink ipas all year, celebration was a big let down no balance at all, centennial hops have to balanced with a little sweetness. Sierra screwed up IMO

I see that Einstok's Winter Ale (the smoked/spruce tip one) has made a comeback. I missed out last year, so I plan on stocking up this year.

I can do without all of the spices - ginger, cinnamon, and cloves - I'll save all of that for the cookies. Just give me a six-pack of Sierra Nevada Celebration ale.

Today won't be above freezing and it's got be wanting some Hibernation in the worst way. I'll see if I can find it this weekend. Also, can't forget about Bigfoot's arrival Mid Winter. Anyone planning on saison's for Thanksgiving?

I pretty much got everything I wanted in one stop today. I’ll still be on the lookout for Corsendonk’s though. I’ll also get Bigfoot when it comes out - a brew I associate with the winter even if it isn’t strictly a “seasonal.” I miss Great Divide Hibernation... it’s no longer spotted in my area. I assume it’s just another case of big brewer shrinkage unfortunately.

I couldn't resist that Guinness myself- can't wait to try it now.

My local beer guy told me that the Scaldis Noel will be in stock next week, so that's another definite for my list.

It does. Years ago, I had one that came with a little foldout beer style thing too (that the one I got today lacks). There’s a different box that comes with their lager, perry, and chocolate stout. I don’t know if they are produced specifically for the holidays, but stores by me seasonally put them on the shelves as such.

My favorite store just posted that Samichlaus just arrived. Since this beer is brewed only once per year on Dec. 6th, I assume it is released only once per year also. So now is the time to look for it if you want to enjoy this one.

I was a huge Anchor fan. I had about 28 seasons. 2019 is very mediocre. So mediocre that I mixed my barley wine with it to make it pallatable-
