Yesterday I was at Tröegs, and on the tasting tour they gave us a sample of a new dubbel called Jovial straight from the fermenter. It was tasty and it wasn't even the final product. They're going to cork and cage it in the small bottles like they do with LaGrave. I'm excited to try the finished product.

CBC Bodhi. When this gets canned it will be huge.

From October '12…"So when will it hit the market? "We don't know," Bean said. "We're working on it. It's an important beer for us so we want to make sure it's right."

I just had the latest batch of Mocha Machine from Beachwood BBQ last night. It's still a fairly new beer; and DAMN was it good. So much creamy, milky, mocha, goodness! I've been beyond impressed with what these guys have been doing lately.

A little more than a month ago I knew that I was going to spend the next three weekends in the SEPA area touring colleges with my son; I also made it a point that I would somehow acquire a case of Straub's Sunshine Sampler. My main interest was the 1872 Lager, but...
I had no clue that the Pilsner would wind up easily ranking among the top PA Pilsners, maybe even topping Sunshine and Prima (depending on my mood). That whole pack has been such a pleasure to drink (the 1872 Lager is also fantastic, btw), but coming across a beer that takes you by surprise like that Pils did to me, well, I have to say it's the beer of the summer in my eyes. Way to go, Straub- please make your killer Pilsner a regular offering!
