Madame Rose, last night. I don't know much about Belgian styles, but it may be worth branching out. I will at least be trying more of this style, that is for sure.

No doubt about it, this was the most interesting, downright delicious beer I've ever had.

1st would be all of the beers I have had at the Michigan Summer Beer Festival the past 2 years. Livery BB everything was amazing, Dark Horse tent was ridiculous, the list goes on.
2nd would be CBS. Cracked a bottle on my parents back deck that has a nature park behind it, a couple deer strolled by, perfect michigan fall evening.

Probably the first IPA that I brewed at home. It was great, and I was able to share plenty of bottles with friends and family. I am looking to ramp up production within the next couple of weeks. My plan is to have 2-3 5 gallon batches going every month.

Maybe the 2001 Dogfish Head World Wide Stout I had in 2009. It was a confirmation of sorts that some American brews can go the distance. There are loads of other contenders.

I really love Flower Power. It's one of a very few beers I can get my hands on here less than a week old, and when it's that fresh the nose and taste is everything I could ever want in an IPA. Plus it's an NY beer and that adds a little bit of ferocity to my loyalty. I buy it by the case.

Probably the "coolest" was the bottle of Bourbon County Rare I split with one friend the night before I moved out of my childhood home.

My favorite is a recent taste, Society and Solitude #5..... Coolest beer would be a tie between Pliny straight from the Brew Pub, or a '06 Speedway Stout in 2010.

My favorite is not a whale, in fact, it's fairly common. But I love it:

    Dogfish Head My Antonia.

This requires some background. I spent the Spring semester of 2009 in Slovakia. Over there, I acquired a taste for pilsners. Still, the variety of beer was largely lacking, so I longed for American hop flavors. Before returning, I told my parents to have a sixer of St. Arnold Elissa IPA waiting and they did, and I loved it. Still, after a time I started longing for a fresh pilsner taste over here, and that was harder to find (bottled Pilsner Urquell is good, but not as good as all of the on-tap Czech pilsners I had over there).

Fast forward to New York City, December 2010. I was living there after college and would frequent the Whole Foods in Bowery. Stumbled on DFH My Antonia and bought it because it sounded good. Needless to say, I was thoroughly impressed. That beer married an American hop profile with a fresh European pilsner flavor I had grown to love- it fulfilled my two most common beer cravings. Still love that beer today.

    Drinking homebrew is pretty cool.

I also had Cantillon at the brewery and Pliny at the brewery, those were both pretty cool.

Surprise tapping of CBS at a bar in Cambridge last year... yup, that was pretty cool. Sampling a few coolships right out of the barrels at Allagash, also pretty cool. Of course, I'll never forget the first time I had this:

Had all these for the first time on my first trip to Amsterdam: Westy 8, Westy 12, Pliny, Heady Topper.

Gonna be hard to top that day. One is now my favorite, and they were all extremely "cool" to experience, especially in that city.

That was a killer tasting and AB Zhukov and T25 were my favs of the night.

    Edit:
Unknown Soldier was certainly one of the most mind blowing brews I've ever tasted. So interesting. 1414 was one of the most perfect and King Henry was one of the most anticipated and it still exceeded my expectations. Finally, Jackie O's Dark Robustic #1 made me fall in love.
