Too bad there isn't a beer where Cannibal Corpse designed the label.

I always thought the Black Metal label was more of a nod to Abbath from Immortal. But it can definitely be about any Norwegian band with corpsepaint.

Even though Tibetan Inquisitor isn't a very good beer, it has one of my favorite metal labels ever.

    Gotta go with Permanent Funeral.

If you've been to FFF or Dark Lord Day you know they love metal.
If you've been to Surly Darkness Day you know they ARE metal.

Being from Minnesota, there are two perfect offerings if I'm looking for some "Metal" beer.

Hammerheart is quickly becoming on of my personal favorites, with a large number of rotating styles, many which are barrel aged or smoked. They're three Nordic dudes who put together this place and constantly play European Black Metal/Death Metal in their brewpub.

I have no idea why one interest must define another. Musical taste makes some beers more suitable than others?

Why does that surprise you? FFF collaborate with a lot of metal bands, and Pig Destroyer also played a set at Dark Lord day in 2013.

I would have to agree Surly seems to be focused on that market. At least from their marketing perspective. Now as far as Metal drinkers, I would say any cheap adjunct Lager and cheap whiskey from a plastic bottle preferably! At least that is how my Metal friends were back in the day.

I just mean that its interesting for such an 'underground' band to have a beer that's received such acclaim in the beer world, which by and large has a different type of audience (although there's certainly some overlap).

I wish I was at that show in 2013. Last time I saw them (about a year ago), they were really at the top of their game.
