    Decided on Leffe this year.

Haven't hit the Belgian Blondes as much as I should this year so Leffe it is.

Gonna crack open the magnum of St Bernardus Abt 12 I've been holding on to, hopefully it's a big hit because I can't drink 1.5 litres of 10% beer.

I had some Mad Elf this weekend wrapping presents, and might have one for Christmas Day. Hoping the family we visit on Christmas Eve has the Sam Adams Winter pack so I can stake claim to the Fezziwigs.

I’ve got a few big boy Stouts from @ovaltine. I’m off tomorrow and I’m Chief Chef for tomorrow, wife’s works to 3. I suppose by then I’ll be buzzed as hell, luckily I’m making homemade raviolis with hot sausage and homemade meatballs. So easy cooking and lots of beer, whiskey, Gin. I’m thinking that Darkness will be saved for tomorrow night and Xmas Vacation.

How do you know that you cant, have you ever tried? That’s 51 oz of beer. That’s less beer than drinking a 4 pk of 16 oz big boy DIPAs. The 64 oz of ipa would about offset the 50 on a bit higher 12. I want pictures, lol, certainly doable given the proper time, makes for an epic story though.

Back in 2011 I was still trading beer and got hooked up with 50/50 Elijah Craig and decided to share it with my then boyfriend and dad on Christmas and it is both of their favorite beer memory.

Fastfoward to 2019. I got 4 different variants for my husband for Christmas. He will probably want high west but he might go for peanut butter honey.

Westvleteren 12- with 2 AAL fans. I got 2 bottles a couple months ago and have been cellaring one for a special occasion. I have debated about breaking this open with my brother and stepson, who would both prefer Old Mil Light or similar, or save it for someone who would appreciate it more. They probably won't like it and I might even hear "people actually enjoy this," but I want them to taste what a 'real' beer tastes like, and this is the best of the style. And with Westy and the other Trappists it's not just enjoying the flavors but it's also the "it's been brewed for centuries by monks who don't even drink it" history of it.

As a bonus they will have some street cred when they find themselves in a conversation with someone who is beer-knowledgeable! But when it comes down to it, I am saving it for a special occasion, and Christmas day with family is about as special as you can get.

And of course I do have a 12 of Old Mil Light to cleanse their palates.

For the first time in nearly a decade, I'm not sure what I will be having. I've kept a tradition of having one of the The Bruery's 12 days of Christmas beers for as long as I can remember. This year, I have not seen a single bottle of this year's 12 Drummers Drumming yet. Ironically, since this year is the last of the series, I will have to choose a new tradition next year anyway.
The good news is that this has been a bumper crop year for BA stouts, so I know I will figure out something nice. Or as many others here have suggested, I'll grab a classic Belgian for the job, the photo of the St. Bernardus at the top of this chat sure looks good.

Got one sitting my garage. Come to Belgium and you can buy a whole case. I actually have only tried the whiskey infused version. I picked up the dark and the blonde a few weeks ago to give them a try.

I’ll probably go with the St. Bernardus Christmas Ale tomorrow followed by a lambic of some sort.
