Port Brewing Co: Board Meeting
Innovative and delicious.
Heady Topper, finally made the trek up.
Oh - i'd like to add a 2nd beer to my 2013 list: Nectar Ales - Black Xantus.
I'm going to have to go with this years Parabola.
Columbus Brewing Company's Bodhi DIPA was awesome, and I was all about Green Flash's Serrano Chile Double Stout when it was popping up in NYC in April
Bridge Road / Nøgne Ø Aurora Australis. Pretty great beer. As it warms up, it changes the taste profiles.
had Parabola on tap last night. WINNER
Kane (NJ) Head High IPA. It's world class!
Zombie Dust then Gangster Frog IPA. Edit: New to me, at least.
Funky Bow's So Folkin' Hoppy IPA...no joke...blew me away.
I would also have said "Enjoy By 5/17" but I was lucky enough to have 2 PTY's back in March so will have to go with that.
Dark Horse Crooked Tree variety pack.
Heady. New to me. Just next level good.
Still got to go with the original Saison Vielle from Crooked Stave.
Other favorites include:
Funkwerks Nelson Sauvin and Solenna
Odell Loose Leaf
Port Board Meeting
Crooked Stave Hop Savant
Grimm Brothers Willows Wren
Telluride Face Down Brown
New Glarus IIPA.
Wormtown Tennessee Tats.
The two year old Burton Baton I found in the back of the fridge.
Alesmith IPA on cask is probably my favorite.
Anchorage Brewing Company "A Deal with the Devil" barley wine. It is, hands down, the best barley wine I have ever had.
Yes! I think the years under its belt along with the rye mellowed and straightened it out. I bet my tasting was also skewed by never having it fresh.
Noble Ale Works Naughty Sauce
FU Sandy from Flying Fish (forever unloved they claim)
jacks abby cascadia.
So far my Favorite is 'South Swell' by Green Room Brewery one of local breweries. It's as Hoppy as a Terrapin Hopsecutioner but it's a red ale. Probably can't find it outside of Jacksonville FL , so for Beer obtainable elsewhere I'd say Palate Wrecker from Green Flash Brewery in San Diego.
1- 2008 BCBS
2- Toppling Goliath Mornin Delight on tap.
4- BA9K on tap
5- Bells Blacknote on tap.
For news beers, it's been Goose Island's BCS Cherry Rye, followed by their Baudoinia, oddly enough. Funny, both BCS variations.
Boulevard Coffee Ale...smoove
Parabola or chocolate rain
I have to pick 3 here:
What is Enlightenment? Excited to drink a ton of it this weekend...
I haven't tried alot of new beers in 2013 (too much home brewing), But I got to try KBS which I really liked as well as Founders Doom (at a Founders night, go figure) and pleasantly surprised by Old Forge Overbite IPA. Not the best IPA I have had, but much better than I was expecting.
As a new beer to 2013, Stone is surprising me. Dayman Coffee IPa and Espresso RIS were both insanely well crafted.
As for best beer I have swallowed this year, Founders CBS wins followed closely by CCB Cafe Con Leche stout and a 2011 Kuhnhenn BB4D.
Stone Espresso IRS
...pretty much in that order...
My favorite (new to me) beer of 2013 is Central Waters Peruvian Morning. That one just blew me away.
This may change when I open up my bottle of Parabola though.
Alchemy Hour. a close second is the BCBS Cherry Rye
Earlier in this thread, when I said my favorite of 2013 so far was Xyauyu Barrel, what I meant to say was that my favorite of 2013 so far is PVW Black Magick. Epic.
Peruvian Morning, Permanent Funeral and Espresso RIS were all incredible, Alchemy Hour was no slouch either.
Funky Buddha Last Snow
