This beer is phenomenal. Notch + smoke is almost universally hitting 8.5/10 at minimum for me.

Had couple of locally brewed lagers. Suburban Brewing - Mexicali (Mexican style lager), and Stickman Brews - Swill (Maibock).

OH - More Citra than All Citra -- TIPA -- This is one of the best OH beers that I've had. Easy drinking for a triple, really great flavor, creamy mouth feel. I also got to sing the name of the beer to the tune of "More Human Than Human"

One positive from the pandemic was that many breweries were allowed to ship, including Suarez. Previously, I had no problem making the 5 hour round trip journey, but sometimes it’s nice to just pay $20 per case to have it delivered to the front door.

I bought this in Virginia, but I’m pretty sure it was brewed in Connecticut, so I’m in the right place. Anyhoo, this is delicious. This dude knows how to brew amazing stouts…among other styles.

Certainly making up for my lack of recent posts. This can actually tastes better than the fresher one I had almost a month ago. Still, not enamored with it but it tastes great after some Thai food.

Brew Gentlemen (Braddock, PA) - Legendary Weapons. Citra and Mosiac IPA. Very nice citrus and stone fruit aroma, taste is slightly sweet, little bitterness. Soft and smooth mouthfeel, overall quite enjoyable

Been saving this one for a good night, and I guess that’s tonight. 15%er from Evil Twin and Short Throw. Whoa. Ton of caramel, coconut and maple syrup. Not overpowering and very smooth for the abv. Damn, wish I had more than 1, this is special.

First State Brewing (Middeltown, DE) - Tripel Beaming. Since this brewery is only an hour from my house, and part of the US Census Bureau's metro area for Philly, I am declaring it an honorary Northeastern beer. Pretty spot on for the style: aroma is peppery, floral, earthy, grainy. taste starts with some honey-like sweetness but finishes drier. thin to medium bodied, lively carbonation.

The last studio song Gov't Mule released with Allen Woody on bass (posthumously) - a ripping cover of Grand Funk Railroad's Sin's a Good Man's Brother. The rest of this album featured an all-star lineup of guest bass players on every other track: Jack Bruce, John Entwistle, Bootsy Collins, Flea, Mike Gordon, Larry Graham, Roger Glover, Chris Wood, Dave Schools, Willie Weeks, Stefan Lessard, Oteil Burbridge, and Mike Watt. Volume 2 had a mess of other greats as well.
