Sent my bottles and they arrived safe and sound

I received a shipment from him, it was the wrong bottles (clearly stated and agreed to). He agreed to send me the original agreed to bottles two week ago. He keeps promising to ship...

    What can/should I do?

Keep reminding him, and if he doesn't do it within a reasonable amount of time, submit it to the bad trader form.

Did you send him the wrong ones back, or are you going to?

It's a fine line between a reasonable wait and an unreasonable theft. After three weeks of no shipping and the guy has been online, I would let him know he has 4 days to post a tracking number or get his name blasted. Simple as that.

Im giving til the end of the week to get this squared around. But wanted to get my ducks in a row first. I will post his name if he fails. Trying to be the eternal optimist...

Hes on my last nerve though.

What to do when trades head south? Move to Florida, then most will head north.

Keep in contact, keep asking, hold him accountable. Give him an ultimatum if needed, if he cannot produce a tracking number then call him out.

Perhaps he was boxing up a few shipments and mixed up two of the boxes? If you still have contact and its only been a few weeks, I would hold off on any name dropping here. Life does happen sometimes. Just be completely straight forward and ask if he is going to make good on his end. If you don't like the way the answer comes across throw the ultimatum at him.

i had this happen to me for the first time recently. grabbed the wrong bottle and stuffed it into a padded pak and shipped it off. for the next few days i was wondering where the bottle went and also wondering why i had an extra of something else...got a convo from the trader that i sent the wrong bottle - YIKES! sucked big time, but i sent him a label to send me my bottle back and popped the correct one in the mail. my mistake, had to fix it on my dime. in the end everyone was happy (except my wallet).

Step 1 is the announcing of the potential bad trader thread. (where we are now)

    Step 2 is the ultimatum.

Step 3 is the outing of the bad trader thread.

Step 4 is usually where you get the apology/excuse and your beer.

Yeah, I would wait to see if he just mixed up two boxes and is embarrassed to admit it (maybe he's waiting to get the other one back to reroute it to you?)

As a side thought though, if (hopefully when) you get your beer, he should also include a shipping label for you to send the wrong beer back. You shouldn't have to pay for his mistake.

He admitted the mistake and said he would take care of it...that was almost 2 weeks ago. Still trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. He only misshipped 1 bottle, which could be taken as an extra. If he wants it back, and will send me a shipping label, by all means Id send it back.

It's either an extra or it's not.

...if it is an extra, he is not a bad trader

I will let him clarify as soon as the agreed to bottles show up. I will be glad to send back as soon as I get my original bottles back. Thats the least of my worries. Not getting agreed to bottles a month after I ship = bad trader.

I'm pickin up what your throwin down, my man. I guess I just don't understand the "which could be taken as an extra" comment. Most (if not all) extras I get are not agreed upon, they are a surprise and I have no clue what they are. But what I'm taking from what you are saying is that you agreed on XXX as an extra upfront and he sent YYY.

    AMIRIGHT?

What's the fun in knowing what the extras are going to be?

Totally agreed. I just threw out the "extra" term as it was 1 bottle. No agreed to "extras". Thats an oxymoron. In a multi bottle trade. I threw in a few extra bottles of Zombie Dust for him, cuz thats how I roll. I dont expect any extras back, if they happen, great.

Unfortunately this trade is a whole different suprise. I think were all on the same page here.

He's saying that he traded for beers A/B/C and he received beers A/B but not C. Instead of receiving beer C, he received beer D. He's saying that beer D may be considered an "Extra" or it might have been sent by mistake, but all he really wants right now is beer C which was part of the agreed upon trade.... he'll send back beer D if it wasn't meant to be an extra (although that would be pretty silly of him to expect you to return a bottle after he messed up on the initial trade.

He is still owed beer C which part of the original A/B/C agreed upon trade.

How much "less" of a beer is the one you got vs. the one you thought was comming? This does not seem to be a big deal unless you expected Black Tuesday and got Bud Light Platinum instead. Knowing the involved beers would clear up this issue pretty quick. The word extra makes this seem pretty cloudy.

I wouldn't jump to conclusions... Not because a trade isn't perfect that the trader is necessarily a bad one. Should he have been more careful? Obviously, but if he makes things right then there is no problem (aside from maybe a little bit of frustration.)

OP: I'm happy you didn't blast out the trader just yet. Give him time to make things right before everyone starts blasting him. Who knows, maybe it was just an honest mistake.

Bad trader submission for should be number 3. When that fails then move on to 3 and 4...

Everyone is allowed a chance at redemption.
