There was a thread a few weeks back about what you would name your brewery if you ever decided to open one. So hypothetically speaking, I guess, what would you name your Bar?

A few names that come to mind-

    Barley and Vine
    Hops and Grape Vines
    21st Amendment

Mmm... I actually have a really good name. But as I don't want it STOLEN, I won't share it.

    Why am I posting?

Just curious to see what others say. The chances of me opening a cafe or a bar are pretty unlikely for the foreseeable future, but it's still something I may want to do when I'm. ... Old.

    I've typed too much.

Make sure you open it up on Draft Street. ;)

Then you just have to call it "Craft"

I'd call it, "Cheers." And my slogan would be "Where everybody knows your name."

    The "Third Place".

Everybody's 'first place' should be home and 'second place' generally refers to work...

...so we all need a "Third Place" where we can be away from the other two for a little while.

I'd have a nice restuarant upstairs called Influence, and the bar downstairs in the basement called "Under the Influence"

That's great. I'll have to trademark it before anyone steal the name or slogan.

I'm going to take this in another direction:

What would your dream bar be?

And that is where my fantasy goes. The other night, I had a dream (not like a MLK Jr worthy dream, but a pretty cool one nonetheless). I opened the world's first adult alcohol themed theme park. You ever been to Disneyland, Six Flags, etc? Y'know how they have different "lands"? Well, so does "Lush Gardens". here's the long and short of it:

Germany: lager style beers, bomb pilsners, munich helles, dopplebocks etc.
Belgium: BSDA, dubbel, trippel, quad, BPA, lambic, geuze, flanders, etc.
    England: milds, bitters, stouts, porters
America: IPA, IIPA, barleywine, and wine
    Italy: wine
    France: Wine

All of these different "lands" are totally done up in a Disneyland style element where they are typecast to fit the average person's view of these places. All the areas have little rides, beer/wine gardens, and different aspects (England has rainy areas, Germany snowy areas, etc).

Needless to say, it was a fucking epic dream and now I really want to create this theme park.

I've already named mine. I got a nice bad ass outside area attached to my house, where I brew beer, grill, serve drinks, play music and have a decent sized tv. I have an L-shaped bar with bar stools put up against it and shelves in the back that hold liquor. I've called mine, "Dukes's Tiki Brewpub and Grill". or aka friends and family know it as Duke's Tiki Bar And Grill. I take tips in my booty chest. It looks like a Pirates Chest and it's slightly polynesian themed.

The Sandwich Bar... Combining my 2 passions in life: sandwiches & craft beer. I provide the craft beer, people provide their own sandwiches, picnic style. A community where folks exchange sandwich recipes/ingredients while washing it down with fantastic beer. You said dream bar right?

Im a big fan of The Shining...for years I have been calling the little bar in my basement (and previously in my apartment) Lloyd's, after the ghost bartender. Whenever I serve someone a drink from it I tell them "Your money is no good here Mr. Torrance"...my wife thinks there is something wrong with me :(

Speaking of that, would I get sued if I named my bar Ten Forward?

I'd be afraid of it just being packed with nerds though and they'd scare away all the women and Taffer tells me I need women in my bar to be a success.
